The report of our Ladies Night party on February 21 comes later than previously promised, not because it fell short of the expectations we had for it but because the deadline for the notes of the April issue came and went while we apparently dozed. At times it seems that Father Time has quickened his pace to keep up with this era of jet propulsion.

The party was all that we hoped. A total of 22 alumni plus 22 wives (what has happened to our bachelor brethren and their attractive dates?) turned out to make the most of the cocktails, dinner, music, and films. Both the colorful Dartmouth Outdoors and shots of the 1950 football season received the applause of all present. In between we heard the songs none of us had forgotten, as recorded by Paul Zeller and the same Glee Club which was here last spring.

A month later, March 28 exactly, was the time of yet another outstanding meeting. No wives this time, but Eddie Chamberlain '36, Executive Officer of the College, was on hand to give us an excellent picture of the College in these uncertain times. Extremely impressive and unforgettable was his resume of the need for liberal arts institutions such as Dartmouth. If more of us were able to express our advocacy of the liberal education as well, our problems would be less pressing.

Alumni with their respective wives at the February party included George Bingham '19, Vic Bloede '40, Gerald Brickett '27, Phil Brown '44, Carl Burton '29, Doug Carter '49. Len Dunn '27, Bill Grant '19, Bob Hazard '29, Art Harrison V-12, Art Jacobson '29. Doug Kelly '32, Walter Kirkpatrick '29, Dick Koester '43, Art Lund '27, Don Mason '13, Jud McCarthy '26, R. P. Nickelson '49, George Parkhurst '30, R. C. Richardson '28, Bailey Walten 43, Stub Webster '45. Other alumni attending the March meeting were Charlie Armes '34, Mac Grant '50, Don Mason '46, Bob Moyer '43, Ed Pierce '41, and Bill Scott '42.
