Hardly seems possible but this is the last regular column until next fall. When you read it the Green Derby will be in the last lap and the 30th Reunion only a week or two away. How will we do in the Derby? It looks good as of now, with many increases and best of all a goodly number of gifts from Classmates who haven't given in several years. Your secretary, on a business trip to Chicago, caught our manon-a-horse Rog Wilde between a trip East and one to the coast, and spent a pleasant three hours with the great man and Caroline in their new apartment in Evanston. The Wildes have gone rural in a big way, with a farm in Wisconsin complete with trout brook and 40 acres... 20 under cultivation. They are busily engaged in renovating the farmhouse and planting apple trees. The new station wagon adds a rural touch and the apartment is strictly for winter use, we gathered. Their son Roddie graduates from medical school on the coast in June and he will intern during the next year.
Reg Miner reports that the response to his card asking for preliminary Reunion reservations has brought prompt replies from a large number of the Class. Looks like a full house with lots of squaws and papooses. Watch JackHurd's Smoker for all the details, including the names of a lot of the faithful who plan to make it even from the west coast and way- stations. Word has just been received from Reg that Prexy Hopkins will be our guest at the Saturday night banquet. President Dickey and Bishop Dallas will be there. You can't afford to miss this one. ... Corey Litchard and Hank Cook who celebrate their 20th anniversary as General Agents for Massachusetts Mutual's home office agency in Springfield, Mass., recently, made the Springfield Union as the Damon and Pythias of that city. Seems both Corey and Hank were not only classmates, but both married Smith girls, became partners in the insurance business and have been running one of the most successful agencies of their Company ever since.

Here is a man who is never out of steaks come what may. Rex and Mickey King are from Summit, N. J. As almost every one knows Rex is General Service Manager of New Jersey Bell Telephone and has been with the phone company since graduation. His job, as he says, has become "a vocation, avocation, almost a hobby and a religion." He and Mickey usually get to Florida in the winter and to Hanover on the slightest pretext.
Here is one from Hawaii about Hastingsand Maude Walker. Hastings is a specialist on T. B., a director of Leahi Hospital. He graduated from Columbia Medical School in 1923 and returned to his native Hawaii as a resident at Leahi Hospital in Honolulu where he has remained ever since. They have two sons, David and Richard, and a daughter Elizabeth. Dave is in the class of '53 at Dartmouth and Dick seems headed that way. Homer Cleary teaches French and Spanish at Kew-Forest School in Forest Hills, N. Y. He is a bachelor, likes his job, and we all hope he keeps it forever so he can continue to be the life of our New York parties. The Ransoms, Howie and Lorraine, live among the Yales in New Haven ... a long hop from Natal, Africa, where Howie first saw the light of day. He was with a real estate law firm 24 years and then started his own real estate business. As you might expect his list of organizations and activities is as long as your arm. Son Dave is Dartmouth '54 and loves it. Their older boy Dick, after service in Japan with the army, started at the University of Connecticut and transferred to Wharton School. Howie wants it known that their latchstring is always out for Classmates at the Yale game or any other time.
Connie Keyes has been possessed with a loose foot almost since graduation. His work has taken him over almost the entire world as a government auditor. In 1944 he married Irene Noblett and in doing so acquired a daughter Lorene and son-in-law Dr. James P. Mann of Washington. As a result, he became a grandfather in August, 1946, only two years, two months and four days after his marriage, a record which will probably stand. Connie and Irene now live in San Francisco where he has settled down for good. If you need a stick of lumber over in Greenport, N. Y. see SpeedyFleet. He's manager and partner in the Fleet Lumber Company. He and Evelyn have a son Charles, Dartmouth '53, and a daughter Patricia. They have a son Steven, 13, and one daughter Susan, nine. Al and Nell Kernan live in Tiffin, O. where Al served several terms as Mayor. He is secretary of the Seneca Building and Loan Company.
