The football luncheon for the Dartmouth-Cornell game at the Hotel Willard Congressional Room November 15 highlighted the month's program of the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D. C. Dartmouth was the host for this year's radio broadcast and Richard A.Whiting '44 was committee chairman.
Plans are under way for the Club's annual undergraduate luncheon to be held during the Christmas vacation. All undergraduates in Washington at that time are urged to attend.
The Club paid tribute to Daniel Webster on October 24, the 100th anniversary of his death, by placing a wreath on the Webster statue at Scott Circle. Taking part in the ceremony were President F. Lowell Haas 35'George M. Morris '11, Matthew G. Jones '23, Howard L. Heath '21 and Secretary King Cole '19,
Ellis O. Briggs '21 was sworn in November 6 as the new Ambassador to the Republic of Korea at a brief ceremony at the State Department. Briggs, former Ambassador to Communist Czechoslovakia, said he would do everything within his power for peace.
Dr. Donald P. Cole Jr. '45, an active member of the Club for the past year and a half, has been released from active duty by the Navy and has moved with his wife and three boys to Cincinnati. He is in residency as senior dermatologist at the University of Cincinnati General Hospital.
