Your secretary can think of no finer way to start the notes this month than to pay a well deserved tribute to George Pas field and Bill Cogswell and their hard working crew of assistant agents for the really fine showing made by our Class in the Memorial Fund campaign last spring. By June 30 we had achieved a grand total of $85,833 of which $16,490 was applied toward the class objective in the 1953 Alumni fund. The balance of about $70,000 comprises the 1928 gift to the College's permanent endowment. It has been supplemented already and further additions are expected before the end of this calendar year. At its meeting the week after our Reunion, the Alumni Council extended its sincere congratulations for 1928's splendid contribution." And you have all read in the '28 Campaigner John Dickey's personal thanks to the Class for our gift. If you have never played an active part in one of these campaigns it is hard to realize the uncounted hours of work the agents put in. Theirs was truly a labor of love. It is a pleasure to extend to George and Bill and their assistants our gratitude and appreciation for their inspired and effective leadership.
