This fall the Dartmouth Club of Cleveland held a most successful tea dance at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club in Gates Mills, Ohio. This was the Club's first venture in this direction and despite the fact that it rained hard during most of the evening an overflow crowd of over 500 attended. Although Dartmouth alumni and their wives, representing a wide range of classes, were predominant, alumni from many other colleges helped fill the Hunt Club to capacity and then some. In addition to music by the orchestra, an octet of former college songsters, known as the "Sleepless Knights," sang during intermission and made a big hit.
The official Club photographer broke his camera just as the dance got under way but fortunately our artist was on hand to catch some of the activity as portrayed above. On the left is our usually staid president, MorrieHartman '29, caught in action with an unidentified partner, while on the right ScottyRogers '40, and his wife Loomie demonstrate their Arthur Murray technique.
On the strength of this year's showing the Club plans to make this fall dance an annual affair.
