Hal Leich '29, former Club president, is chairman for the annual spring dinner of the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D. C., to be held at the National Press Club March 5 with President John S. Dickey as principal speaker. The Dartmouth delegation in Congress, with Ed Hiestand '10 of California as a new member, will attend, and Sherm Adams '20, assistant to President Eisenhower, and former Governor of New Hampshire, is expected to be an honor guest.

The program will also include selections by the barbershop quartet led by Stirling Wilson '16 and election of officers. Hal Fitz '23, former Club president, is chairman of the nominating committee.

Club members were shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Ruth Mary Paul in Ocala, Fla., February 4. Mrs. Paul was the wife of the Club's only honorary member, Lt. Gen. Willard S. Paul '16, USA Ret., formerly Dartmouth's ranking Army officer and personnel chief under General Eisenhower during World War II.

Donald H. C. MacKay '45, Club treasurer and member of the interviewing committee, reports that he and his committee have interviewed about as many prospective freshmen as last year and that there are some exceptionally fine candidates this year.

Richard Parkhurst '16, former Club member and now head of the Mystic Terminals Co., Boston, Mass., has denied that he has been offered the chairmanship of the Federal Maritime Board. A former Maritime Commissioner, Parkhurst has expressed doubt that he would accept if the post were offered him.

Sid Hayward, College Secretary, will be the Club's luncheon speaker March 17 at the New Athens Restaurant, 1741 K St. NW, at 12:30 P.M.

Mr. Hayward, who will stop off in Washington on his way to Richmond, Va., will give an interesting report on Hanover.

Col. Allan Sutter '37 USMC, former executive officer of the Dartmouth NROTC, was welcomed back to the Club on February 10 and immediately "tabbed" to give the luncheon talk. Al, who is now on the staff of the Director of Marine Corps Educational Center at Quantico, about 40 miles out of Washington, gave a most interesting talk regarding his work in Hanover and at Quantico.

Joe Fanelli '32, Club executive committee member, served as consultant for a recent Dumont TV "Keep Posted" program which had as its topic the McCarran Immigration Law.
