Easter week provided an excellent opportunity for the Bridgeport Club to entertain the undergraduates who were home for Easter vacation. The meeting was held at the Algonquin Club on Wednesday evening, April 8, and approximately 60 men attended. Prospective candidates for admission to Dartmouth this fall were also invited, as were their fathers and the fathers of the undergraduates.
The large attendance can be attributed to the speaker of the evening, Bill McCarter '19, Director of Athletics. He presented the problems which are now facing the College, the important events of the winter and spring seasons and the athletic picture for next year. Charles Feeney, vice president of the New York Giants, was also scheduled to appear on the same program, but at the last minute he had to represent the Giants in Milwaukee for a welcome celebration of the new Braves team. Despite this disappointment, four tickets to the Giants-Brooklyn opening game were offered as door prizes and were won by Bob McMahon '56 and Ralph Mount '55. Bob Stearns '38 presided at the meeting.
