Johnnie Ward hears from Richard Leach quite frequently. Leach was not able to complete his college course with us, but did receive his LL.B. degree from the University of Denver, and for many years was a successful lawyer in Denver, Colo. Due to a serious automobile accident he has been incapacitated in recent years. However, he keeps alert and busy in compiling an account of his father's life in the West, particularly in the early days in Montana. He now makes his home in La Verne, Calif.

In looking over old copies of the Aegis, we were interested to note the men in this class who were entitled to wear the "D." They included Captain French, Pingree, Hancock,Sampson, McCarten, and Wainwright in baseball; in football, Lowe, Butterfield, DungieCrowell, Boyle, Gilmore, Halliday, Marshall,Wainwright and Whelen; and in track, Haskell and Mclntvre. Ned Wainwright was the only one entitled to two, baseball and football.

Charlie Chase says he keeps busy working around his house and garden, and occasionally doing some surveying in and about the county. Daughter Nancy is with Time magazine, and this spring enjoyed a three-months trip along the Mediterranean. Son. Richard '38 and his wife enjoyed the delights and pleasures of two weeks at Daytona Beach, Fla., not long ago.

By this time you have all received JohnnieWard's report regarding the class participation in the Alumni Fund drive, and once again we must all give our sincere thanks to Johnnie for his splendid achievement and show him our deep appreciation of his work and labors.
