In view of the coming advent of Dr. Allen into the select class of nonagenarians where the other four members of '85 have been located for the past year or more the secretary thought it would be wise to give him an idea of what is expected to be done in the way of exercise by one of these advanced years, so he asked Dr. Warren Adams for information that he could pass on to Dr. Allen. Adams' reply to my inquiry is appended.

"On my return from an air cruise to the West Indies I found your card awaiting me. In reply to your inquiry how a nonagenarian should disport himself I cannot say, but as a nonagenarian I will tell you how I pass the time. Six months in Palm Beach, Fla., November 1 to May 1, where I play golf and paint. Three months in Little Boars Head, N.H., June 20 to September 20, where I bind books, play golf and poke around my flower beds. Three months at 580 Park Ave., New York, May 1 to June 20, and September 20 to November 1, where I loaf the time away."

The secretary is chastened in spirit. He has been under the delusion that his activity in the gardening line during the summer months was evidence that the years had taken little toll and that six months' loafing in Florida did not count against the record. "Pride goeth before a fall."

Judge Matthews '84 is in St. Petersburg for his annual Florida vacation, and as usual is staying at the Suwannee Hotel.
