It is my sad duty to report the death of Dick Sullivan's wife, Helen, of a heart attack on January 18 at their home in Lawrence, Mass. Dick and their eleven-year-old son Richard had gone bowling that evening. When they returned home at 8:15 they found Helen dead in the bathtub. They thought she had slipped, knocked herself out, and drowned, but it was subsequently shown that there was no water in her lungs and that she had died of a heart attack.

Dick, Helen and their son had left October 22 for Medellin, Colombia, where Dick was to open a library for the United Nations. They stopped en route at Havana to confer with UNESCO officials and learned that the new Colombia government (as of last July) was not sympathetic to the project, and in short, the job Dick was hired to do did not exist. After spending a month in Havana hoping that things would change, he asked UNESCO to be relieved of his contract and they returned to Lawrence. Since Dick was "on leave," he returned to his position as Lawrence Librarian, and on December 14 they were fortunate to be able to return to their own home at 204 Cypress Ave.

Jud Whitehead sent us a clipping from a San Francisco paper containing a picture of Honie Westhaver, just appointed to the newly created position of general manager of operations for the Columbia-Geneva division, United States Steel Corp., with headquarters in San Francisco. For the past three years Honie has been manager of the huge United States Steel plant in Salt Lake City, and had only recently finished building a new home there.

Jud says he almost made the 25th reunion, having arrived in Hanover from San Francisco on June 9, three days ahead of time. 1 he next day he got word that a tornado had raised the dickens with his Fremont, Nebr., water heater plant, so he had to fly there to argue with the insurance people and didn't get back to Hanover. Jud says he hopes to see some of his classmates on his next trip East.

Jack Waller has finally taken the big step. On Thanksgiving Day he and Miss Christine Louise Todtschinder of Manchester Center, Vt., were married at the home of the bride's parents. Christine is a graduate of the Green Mountain Junior College in Poultney, Vt. After a wedding trip through New England, they went to Delray Beach, Fla., where Jack is the manager of George Boughton's Colony Hotel.

Speaking of Florida, we know that a lot of you fellows manage to get down there some time during the winter so we'd like to offer a suggestion - make The Colony your headquarters or call up George when you get to South Florida. There may be fifteen or twenty '28ers between Palm Beach and Miami who would be delighted to get together for dinner and a continuation of the 25th reunion. Johnand Vera Flanagan will be at the Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale from March 15 to 29; Brougham and Claire Wallace always go to Miami Beach about that time; and the Skinners expect to be in Miami the latter part of March and the first part of April. Who else can join the party? Write or call GeorgeBoughton and give him your address and telephone number if there is any possibility of your making this Florida reunion. There might be several of them.

According to the Hanover (N.H.) Gazette of January 28, Lane Dwinell has named his top campaign aides in his bid for the Republican nomination for Governor of New Hampshire. Judge W.W. Treat of Hampton is state chairman of the Dwinell-for-Governor committee, and Med M. Chandler, manager of the James W. Hill Co. in Manchester, is the treasurer. Lane is obviously preparing for a rugged campaign, although thus far no opponent has thrown in his hat.
