Harlan Curtis has retired from active practice in his specialized medical field, Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat, and he and Mrs. Curtis are living very quietly in their home in Concord, N. H. ...Bob and Anna Leavens are active participants in the capital-fund drive for a new building for the Unitarian Church in Berkeley, Calif. A church to house a congregation of goo and an educational plant of similar size is needed. This church has the largest church school of any Unitarian group in the United States.
Gene Dow, although retired officially, still does some accounting now and then. He continues to ask, "Can any classmates beat my record of ten grandsons?" No girls in that family Mrs. Viola Grant passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, March 6. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Perley in his loss.... Jack Andrews is looking forward to his annual fishing at the Rangeley Lakes this spring. We will always remember the mid-winter trips that Jack, Al True,Arthur Sampson, Locke Perkins and JimSmith used to make up into Dorchester, N. H., to fish for pickerel through the ice during senior year. Jim Smith lived in old Sanborn, and frequently the fish brought back from these trips were stored in Jim's bath tub, until cooked over the open fire in the big fireplace in his room.
The Class is well represented this year among the tourers of the world, as we note that Johnnie and Alma Ward spent the month of March on a trip to Caracas to see their daughter and her family, while Chan andMary Cox enjoyed a six weeks' voyage to South America, visiting Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and many other points of interest. Then in April Ed and Edna Hunter started on a two months' trip to Europe, visiting Holland, Belgium, France, England and Scotland; and on March 19 Frank and ElsieCudworth sailed from New York for a five months' stay in Europe, and are due back in New York about the first of September.
