Glad to see that Bill Clay spent a night in February at the Hanover Inn. Bill, for the past three years, has been with Sylvania Electric Products in N.Y.C., but we notice an address change this month to West Washington Square, Philadelphia 1, Pa.
Another visitor at the Inn recently was John Trethaway and his wi£e Joy. A couple of years ago, John was manager of the F. W. Woolworth store, Wayne, Pa., but we notice he is now living on Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia.
Careful readers of the past issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE noticed that Phil Booth was recently named an instructor in English at Dartmouth. He received his M.A. degree at Columbia in 1949. In 1949-50 was instructor of English at Bowdoin College, and from 1950-51 was assistant to the director of admissions at Dartmouth. A poet whose work has appeared widely, he is the son of Prof. Edmund H. Booth of the Dartmouth English Department, a person we all remember.
Announced during March is the engagement of Miss Joan Carolyn Bennett to HughChapin. Hugh is presently with Field & Cowles, insurance work in Boston, Mass.
Rube and Di Samuels have recently moved from Nahant, Mass., to Paramus, N. J. Rube has just about completed his work at the Harvard Graduate School and will return to Thomas Crimmins Contracting Co. in N.Y.C. The Samuels' first baby is expected in June.
Garv Bawdin is a manufacturer's representative in Birmingham, Mich. Sam Brody is an architect in N.Y.C. Sam received his B. in Architecture at Harvard Architecture School several years ago, was a Rufus Choate Scholar at Dartmouth.
Vic Brum is a biochemist at the Cardiopulmonary Lab., V.A. Hospital, Albany, N. Y. Al Colton has recently moved to San Marino, Calif. Chuck Creedon is doing insurance work in Wauwatosa, Wise., after a tour of duty with the USNR. He was formerly with Prudential Insurance Co. in Detroit.
Ed Connolly continues as production engineer with American Woolen Co. in Andover, Mass. Bob Cook is a factory representative in Fortville, Ind. We wish Bob would fill m since 1048 when the records show him a sales engineer in Three Rivers, Mich. John Day is now living in Hartford, Conn., where he is an interior decorator with G. Fox & Co. John's past experience in this work has been as product designer with Westfield Mfgr. Co., and as production manager and decorator with Theo. Hofstatter & Co., Inc.
Don Evans continues as lawyer with Good-win Proctor & Hoar. John, now living on Pinckney St., Boston, is planning an April marriage, as mentioned previously, to Shelia Elizabeth Sweeney. Lee Fiske continues in the lumber business in Greenfield, Mass. Bob Hall is a sales representative in Omaha, Nebr., newly transplanted from Wilmington, Del.
We wonder what civil engineer Ken Kelly is doing with Gilboy & O'Malley, with the following address: Hq. 3rd Air Force, ACSI, APO 125, N.Y.C. Don Knapp, in Germany and Tapan several years ago, is now a shipping clerk-student, c/o Fellowship, 21 Audubon Ave., N.Y.C. 32.
The Bill Knights have a newly purchased house at 8520 Weldon Drive, Richmond 26, Va. Enjoyed a pleasant evening of bridge recently with the Lum Luhmans, also insurance people of Richmond, Va. Chuck Langley has changed his address from San Francisco APO to 99 Sherman Road, Chestnut Hill 67, Mass.
Lt. (jg) Jim Luce graduated from the New England Conservatory, Boston, in June, then went on active duty in the Navy Reserve. Mike Moran is a new resident of Nashville, Tenn , working there as a salesman with Diamond Alkali Co. Mike taught school at Cheshire Academy and Westover School for a year or so after graduating from school, then was an adjuster with Hartford Accident & Indemnity Company in 1947. He has been with Diamond Alkali' Co. since 1951, just recently in Atlanta, Ga.
Gerry Phillips continues as a lawyer in N.Y.C. Steve Stevenson continues his teaching at Swampscott High School, Mass. ThornWierurn continues his law work as a lawyer with J. Walter Thompson in N.Y.C. He has an LL.B. from Columbia University and was previously a member of the law department of the Home Life Insurance Co., before a tour of duty as lieutenant at the Command Legal Office, T & R Command, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Glad to have Berkess C. Carroll listed with the class of 1947. Bernie Nelson continues his work in the milk, cream, and ice cream business in Minneapolis, Minn., with the Northland Milk and Ice Cream Co. Lt. Sam Packer has completed his work at the U. S. Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, Calif., and is now aboard the USS Remora, FPO San Francisco.
