Your Secretary is happy to report that the annual meeting of your Association was held on Monday, April 5, at the Minneapolis Club. There were over 115 at the dinner, including a large delegation from St. Paul. The dinner was an outstanding success in every department. We enjoyed hearing John Meek '33 and Dean Arthur Upgren speak on the Hanover scene.
John Faegre reported that there are over 100 applicants for admission to Dartmouth from our area this year and he hoped that forty to fifty would be admitted and would attend. This is indeed a fine testimonial to the work done by John, Bob Krieger and HalWonson during the past year, as the motivating forces in the enrollment committee.
Lyman Wakefield reported that the Treasury was solvent but that there were a number of alumni whose dues had not yet been received. Kindly accept this reminder to send in your dues; $2 for alumni less than five years out of college and for alumni out of the Twin Cities area, and $5 for alumni in the Twin Cities area who have been out of college more titan 'five years.
John Faegre also reported that the Vaughan and . Loudon funds together aggregated slightly in excess of $25,000. He stated that he hoped that during the fall that the income from those funds would make it possible for two boys to go down to Hanover as the Vaughan and Loudon scholars. John deserves a great deal of credit in building up these funds.
John W. Kelley '41 was elected president and Hal Wonson was elected vice president of the Association for the coming year. Lyman E.Wakefield Jr. was re-elected treasurer and your Secretary was also re-elected. Elected to the executive committee were: Carl Elmquist, Ted Gaver, Don Norton, Jim Oppenheimer, Bob Stone, Clarke Bassett, Herb Bissell, Walt Bush, Tom Charlton, Don Fox, Fred Gamble, Dave Leslie, Whit Miller, Morrow Peyton, Art Ostrander, Jim Rogers and Joe Vancisin.
This fine annual banquet was a climax of a very successful year under Stuart MacPhail's leadership. Stu did a grand job and deserves a great deal of credit.
