John D. Dodd was elected vice president of the operating staff of New York Telephone Company at the meeting of its board of directors on December 22. In 1922, Jack became a traffic student in the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania, transferred to the New York Telephone Company in 1924, became an engineer for the American Telephone and Telegraph Company in 1926 and returned to the New York Telephone Company in 1930, where he has served as assistant vice president of the personnel department, general commercial manager of the Manhattan-Bronx-Westchester area and assistant vice president of the engineering staff.

Jack and Frances Wilson were married in 1925 and have two daughters, Nancy Katherine and Sally Wilson, now Mrs. G. A. Holden.

It is reported that the two Vermont senators have agreed to the appointment of Sterry R.Waterman to one of the vacancies in the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Presumably, this agreement means that Sterry will be given the high judicial post if Vermont is given one of the two present vacancies in the circuit and that is considered probable. The Second Circuit of the Court of Appeals, which includes Vermont, New York and Connecticut ranks just below the Supreme Court in the federal judiciary. Although without judicial experience, Sterry has been a prominent member of the Vermont bar. He has been a member of the Board of Commissioners for the Promotion of Uniformity of Legislation in the U. S. since 1938. He was Caledonia County state's attorney and assistant secretary of the Vermont Senate from 1933 to 1937, member and secretary of the Commission to Investigate the Judicial System of Vermont, 1935-37, and a member of the state Unemployment Compensation Commission from 1936 to 1946.

The Twoters in the Boston area were happy to read the recent announcement by Radcliffe College that Stewart P. Steams has been appointed its business manager. Stewie will come to his new position from a long period of service with General Electric Company in its treasury department at Schenectady. Stewie and Louise with Stewie Jr. and Susan will be welcome additions to our midst.

John Dana thoughtfully reported a 1922 dinner in New York on December 8. An un- usual number of conflicting prior commit- ments kept the attendance down but LarryHealy, Len Bernheim, Harry Bruckner, BillMorrell, Kris Kristeller, Art Norton and John had a thoroughly good time.

Ralph Reid has had a serious operation recently. It is nice to be able to report that he is making a satisfactory recovery, although he will be out of circulation for some time yet.

At an afternoon ceremony in our home on Christmas Day, Anne Bullen became the bride of Warren C. Bosworth. Emily Bullen attended her sister as maid of honor and Marine Corporal Jed Bullen was best man. The bride and groom will make their home in Bennington, Vt.

The Jack Blunts, the Paul Peters and KillyKilmarx were Hanover Inn guests in late November and early December.

Your scribe enjoyed luncheon with JohnnyJohnson one noon recently. Johnny was in Cambridge at the time, having been sent by United States Rubber Company to attend the fall session of the course for executives at Harvard Business School.

The October issue of The Tobacco Record, national magazine of the tobacco industry, carried a picture of LeRoy F. Ball on its cover and a story on the inside captioned, "LeRoy F. Ball - Horizons Unlimited." It is a highly complimentary article about Roy, who had just been re-elected president of the National Association of Tobacco Distributors by popular acclaim.

NOW HEAR THIS: February 16 is the date of the annual dinner meeting of the Boston Alumni Association. For us, that is a significant event for it comes under the administra- tion and direction of Haskell Cohn as retiring president of the Association. It goes without saying that local Twoters will make every effort to be present and pay tribute to Haskell. This notice is included here for the benefit of any out-of-towners who may have occasion to be in Boston on that date. Any such are urged to join us at the dinner and your secretary will be happy to make the necessary reservations upon request.

AND THIS: The weekend of March 11-13 will be the occasion of the annual informal 1922 reunion in Hanover. The Inn has reserved a floor of rooms for us but please remember the plan is for each to make his own reservations directly with the Inn, notifying your secretary that you have done so. Fourteen couples enjoyed last year's party and there are indications that a larger number will attend this year. Those of us who have been present at one or both of the previous March gatherings know it to be a restful and pleasant weekend. Why not join us this year ? It will be a warm-up for the formal reunion scheduled for June of 1956.
