The Manners Maketh Man Award established by Charlie Milham and awarded each year to that man who most exemplifies gentlemanly qualities on and off the football field was awarded this year to quarterback John Dell Isola.
Instead of sending flowers, the Class sent a contribution to the Diabetic Children's Camp in memory of Shorty Davis. Florence has written the Class a gracious letter of thanks in which she says that one of Shorty's outstanding characteristics was his great love and affection for handicapped children.
Helen and Norm Russell motored to Florida the last of January to spend a month or two in the sunshine.
Bucky Kraft's son Arthur has been chosen by the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce as one of the ten outstanding young men in the nation in 1954- Arthur was one of six sculptors chosen to work on the 25-million-dollar Northland Shopping Center in Detroit.
Our Class has suffered another great loss in the death of Dave Main on January 16. Dave was the president of the Class from 1948 to 1953.
Charlie Crane, assistant to the president of the National Life Insurance Company, retired January 31. Author and a humorist, Charlie will continue to write books on Vermont folklore and to carry on his many speaking engagements.
Nat Leverone was the subject of Bill Cunnineham's column in the Boston Herald of December 3. Among a lot of other nice things he said, "This distinguished and nationally known gentleman is an authentic authority on a great many things."
