ONE of the never-ending features of Dartmouth life is the devising of ways in which the College's educational program can be improved. Efforts along this line were highlighted last month by two year-end reports, one by a sub-committee of the Dartmouth Chapter of the American Association of University Professors and the other by the Academic Committee of the Undergraduate Council. Although both reports are unofficial in character, they tell alumni a good deal concerning faculty and student thinking about the curriculum; and under the heading "TheReal Business" (Page 15) we print the full faculty report and most of the student report.
A photo feature, entitled Operation Bootstrap (Page 22), deals with the Dartmouth Rowing Club, which is rapidly bringing crew back to a prominent place in the College.
Timothy Was Before You (Page 27), by Daniel Chase ' 14, is the story of the return of a 1785 man to the campus for Commencement ten years after his graduation. Timothy Dickinson's feelings, 160 years ago, will be repeated by hundreds of alumni this month.
