In the last two months the biggest activity of the Dartmouth Club of Western Pennsylvania has been enrollment work. The many members of Rem Drury's ('48) enrollment committee have been contacting the high schools in the area to talk to high school seniors interested in hearing about Dartmouth. About the middle of the fall season, a meeting for interested high school seniors was held at the home of Ed ChinluncL '29. Movies were shown of the College and several of the alumni talked about various aspects of the College. Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Jack Musick from Coach Bob Blackman's football staff spent about two weeks in town supplementing our activities.
On December 28 we held our annual Father and Son Luncheon for the Dartmouth undergraduates and their fathers at the Sherwyn Hotel. The response was not as great as in previous years, but nevertheless a good crowd. Our speaker was Dr. Mills, principal of Mount Lebanon High School, who told us about special activities taking place in high school, which were preparing boys better for college.
Also, Chuck Albo '58, Bill Lomicka '59, Lowell Wilder '57, and Ted Sheridan '56 gave brief impromptu remarks about happenings on the Dartmouth scene which were of interest to us all.
"Snuffy" Smith, Assistant Athletic Director, is scheduled to be with us on January 13 with a football film and we hope to get out a good crowd to hear him. This meeting is to be held at Danny's Restaurant on Grant Street. Danny's is also the scene of our weekly luncheons to which you are invited if you are in Pittsburgh on a Wednesday.
