Ed and Edna Hunter have been in Hanover all winter, but they hope to get away for a short stay in Florida before spring.... A note from Harry Gilmore states he recently dropped a stitch in his back, but he wants it distinctly understood that this was not due to old age. We certainly believe this, as he is once more back on the job of chasing and trapping the pesky varmints (squirrels and skunks) that infest his garden. He had to buy a new barrel in which to drown them all. A very happy time was had in Orlando recently, when some of the sojourners in Florida gathered for lunch. Frank Halliday, Jack Andrews,Clarence Phelps and Whiskers Crowell made up the party, and from all reports it was one grand time.
Tom and Inez Remsen left home February 12 and drove to Florida and have been staying at the Miramar Inn, West Palm Beach. On the wav down they stopped in Kissimmee and had lunch with Whiskers Crowell, and Tommie saw Jack Andrews for a few moments while Jack was in the hospital... .Jim Smith continues his active business life, although severely handicapped with the very poor condition of his eyes. His son Stevie, the youngest of four boys, is an automobile salesman in Dennisport on the Cape. Jim reports he now has seven grandchildren.
Paul Burleigh, in noting the passing of DonPage, speaks of Don's wonderful qualities as a man. They were cousins and roomed together in college. Paul enjoys his retirement and keeps busy but has to watch his step. His children and grandchildren all live nearby so he can enjoy seeing them frequently.
Some of the old crowd still get to the annual dinner of the Boston Alumni Association, and on February 8, five of them answered the roll call, George French, Bill Cheever, Ned Calderwood, T Wood and Arthur Sampson. We well remember in the old days the class filled at least two tables on these occasions.
