Here is a quote from the Wall StreetJournal of February 29: - "City income taxes picked up another advocate. Denver's Mayor Will Nicholson says they're 'inevitable' and wants to put the matter up to the city's voters at a special election early in 1957." Recently, Will was named chairman of the National Security Commission of the American Lesion.

Robert P. Booth has been reappointed by the Supreme Court as chairman of the New Hampshire Board of Bar Examiners.

All 1922 fathers of freshmen were in Han over for the father-son weekend in February - all three of them, that is. Walt Sands reported it. He, Frank Horan and Sterry Waterman together with their respective freshman sons' managed to gather for a session. Doris Sands was there, also, but devoted her time to their sophomore son.

A neighbor of this correspondent speaks happily of a golfing experience with OzzieSiegfried during a recent visit in Florida. Stanand Catherine Miner have advanced in the grandparent derby. It's a boy this time and makes it one of each. Larry Farnham was elected assistant treasurer of Turner Construction Company at a meeting of its board of directors in January.

You will recall that his three sons brought fame to Gene Hotchkiss by all being in Dartmouth at one time. Currently, Gene Jr. is working toward a Ph.D. at Cornell; Jim is in the economic research division of United Airlines and Frank is in Los Angeles with a firm of builders and planners.

Dr. Egon Kattwinkel has resigned as Chief of Medicine at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital, a post he has held since 1951. Kitty will continue as Chief of Cardiology.

The Carlisle Hardware Co. is planning its twelfth store. This will be the largest of the branches and will be built in Springfield. Herm hopes to have it open for business by June.

Haskell Cohn, Len Morrissey, Gray Bates,Stewie Stearns, Bob Booth and your scribe represented the class at the dinner of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston on February 8.

After a delightful cocktail party and dinner at the Dwights', Carroll and Nan with son Peter '54, Dick and Dot Stetson, Carter andAlie Hoyt, Odie Lee and Bill Bullen attended the Dartmouth Glee Club concert in Boston, March 3. Peter Dwight was on leave from his Navy post in Maryland.

Lloyd Barnard and Steve Kenyon have accepted appointment to the nominating committee of which Stan Miner is chairman. This committee of three will come up with a good slate, you may be sure. If you have any suggestions do not hesitate to send them to the committee for consideration.

A trip to New York on February 21 was the opportunity for a very pleasant dinner an evening with Jack Dodd, Chick Bushel,Johnny Johnson and Stan Miner. Chick was soon to be off for Florida, but the other three agreed they would see me in Hanover at the mid-March class gathering.

Before reading this you will have received the initial mailing on reunion from len Morrissey. Please send him the reply card if you have not done so already. It is hoped, of course, that you will fill it out in the affirmative.
