By the time you read these lines the football season will be history - hopefully pleasant but for the record it is reliably reported that the following were present at the Harvard game; Aborn, Austin, Batchelder, Drake,Gregg, Lawrence, Lowell, Nichols, Potter,Paul Smith, Woodies. The 1914 Cocktail Emblem was flying at the mastheads of at least two cars but there was such a throng of picnickers that we missed connections. If your name is not listed your complaint will be entertained. Derby Hall breaks into print with his picture in the Boston Herald in connection with the 225 th anniversary of the Royall House in Medford which was observed by the Royall House Association in October.

Bob Dunbar reports to Treas. Batchelder that he visited in New England for the first time since 1941. With the Larry Kingmans the Dunbars drove to the Cape and visited with Lester Bacon - a sort of Brockton High Alumni-Dartmouth '14 reunion. From Wilmington, Del., Jesse Stillman writes that he and his wife spent some time at Boothbay Harbor, Me., and saw quite a lot of the Roger Rices. All this of course was summer activity. Ernie Kimball has a new address, having been forced to move on account of new highway construction. You can reach him at 48 Brettwood Road, Belmont 78, Mass. George Boggs advises that he lost out in the last election by less than 50 votes but his party won and he has been busy in Halifax working with the new Government trying "to solve some of the mysteries" of the previous regime. Bill Holway has a new address — 1500 South Frisco, down in Tulsa 19, Okla. Ken Grant has scraped the barnacles off the old hulk and moved inland to Andover, Mass., where he is absorbing the academic atmosphere at 16 Beech Circle. Another mover is Harold Robinson who is still residing in Wakefield, Mass., but on another street - 12 Newall Road.

A newspaper clipping came in from the Alumni Office stating that one P. N. Aborn had been elected treasurer of the Eastern College Personnel Officers. With due modesty I must confess to the truth of the report but "it ain't news" as this has been an annual appointment since 1926. The Freddie Davidsons were reported at the Inn in October, probably at the Brown Game, and the Cranstons apparently were there in September. Sometimes takes a long time for news to travel!

Harold Beers Naramore

Harold Beers Naramore, 68, honorary member of 1914, died suddenly on September 26, 1957 at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover. Nary, a native of Bridgeport, Conn., was stricken earlier in the afternoon while playing golf with his wife Marion and several friends at the Lake Morey Club.

He moved to Lebanon, N. H., several years ago and his great interest in Dartmouth prompted him to name his place on the Newport Road "Wah Hoo Wah Farm." Shortly after coming to Lebanon he was elected an honorary member of the Class of 1914. Two of his sons were graduates of the College, H. Burling Naramore '33 and Robert W. Naramore '35. Always a supporter of all matters pertaining to Dartmouth, he followed her athletic teams everywhere and gave generously to the Alumni Fund each year. After his closer connection with the College through membership in the Class of 1914, he personally provided for the Class Picnic at his farm at recent reunions. He even dressed his thoroughbred Jersey cattle in green blankets with large 'l4 numerals, and each member of the Class and his wife attending the picnic were remembered with an appropriate gift.

Nary was a member of Corinthian Lodge, 103, AF and AM; Hamilton Commandery, Knights Templar; Jerusalem Chapter, Pyramid Temple Shrine; and the Royal Order of Jesters, Court 66, Dimaryp.

He was chairman of the board of directors of Bridgeport Fabrics, Inc. He also headed the boards of Bridgeport Fabrics of Canada and the Donahue Corporation of Canada. During his residence in Bridgeport he was active in Republican politics, serving as State Finance Chairman in the 1944 presidential campaign. In 1944 he was named to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation advisory committee for the federal district comprising New York State and Fairfield County.

In addition to his wife and the two sons named above, a daughter, Mrs. Robert Stearns of Bridgeport, Conn., and a son, John C. Naramore of Potsdam, N. Y., survive.

Funeral services were held September 30 at the First Methodist Church in Bridgeport with the Rev. William H. Alderson officiating. The Class was represented at the services by Jack Conners and Kathleen ana Mart Remsen.
