Mortie Crowell is enjoying the winter, with the blue skies and the glorious sunshine, at the Brahman Inn, Kissimmee, Fla., and all is well with him. He keeps busy with shuffleboard in the morning, long walks along the lake, reading and perhaps a nap in the afternoon. Then Bingo, penny ante or bridge in the evening. "What a life," says Mortie. In a letter from Bruce Brown, Toga's youngest son, we are sorry to note that his father fell about a year ago and broke his pelvis. Prior to that accident Toga had been active in his real estate and insurance business and in excellent health. Bruce is a lawyer and lives in Amherst.
Returns from our questionnaire regarding an informal reunion in Hanover in June are very satisfactory and it looks as though we would have a very happy time. Frankie Newhall is on a trip to Europe so he will not be with us. We are sorry for it has been a long time since we have seen him.
Tom Remsen continues his effective work as Chairman of the Washington County Civil Service Commission in Hudson Falls, a position he has held for some time. Kid Barnard has had to undergo further hospitalization but is now back home greatly improved. He hopes to be with us for the informal in June.
Only four of our class attended the annual Dartmouth Alumni Dinner in Boston in February, Chan Cox, T. Wood, Johnnie Ward and Arthur Sampson. What a difference the years have made! We all remember when 1901 used to fill two tables at this annual affair.
Frank Halliday writes that he and ClarencePhelps recently had dinner together at the University Club, and that Clarence was most interested to hear all about our 55th June. Frank was able to answer all his questions as to how we looked and how we acted. The Hallidays will be in Hanover this June to pick up grandson Malcolm, who will have just finished his sophomore year in college. Gardy Cobb has been on a trip through Connecticut, seeing and visiting with relatives, and then he left New York for a boat ride to Texas. He had a special invitation secured by his cousin Gil Sykes '36 to go down and back to New York on an oil tanker, with the privileges of the owner's cabin. A most interesting experience greatly enjoyed by Gardy.
