We wish to tell of '08's part in this year's fund drive and it is a good story. Due to the nature of the drive this year there were no dollar quotas assigned but we raised $3723, not counting the capital gifts. On a participation basis we were 107% of the quota. Out of 63 classes participating, 'OB stood 13th. Having also won the college cup this year for the greatest proportion of graduates back for reunion, we have every reason to feel that there is a kick in the old hoss yet.
Now let's have those glossy pictures of classmates, present or past, serious or humorous and some items for '08's private perusal and we will issue an " 'OB Confidential."
It is sad to have to report the passing of another good classmate. Bill Miller died in the Orange Memorial Hospital, September 28. Up to his retirement he had been advertising director of Good Housekeeping Magazine with an office in New York. Further details will appear later.
I just came from the Newton-Wellesley Hospital (October 10) after a brief visit with Chet Melville. He has been a patient there for several weeks with ticker trouble but expects to go home shortly. He was, I am happy to say, his usual smiling self and it was good to see him so.
Walter Furman has gone Princeton — or rather has moved to Princeton, N. J., where his address will be Scott Lane. He hopes for visitors at the Princeton game. Walter has not retired but will be less active and seeks the nearest Ivied Halls. His son is now Attorney General of New Jersey.
