The scene: Soldier's Field, Cambridge, Mass. The score: Harvard 16, Dartmouth 8. Other irritating factors: it was raining, cold, and white handkerchiefs were waved at us. All was 'agin us Saturday, October 25, but as John Dell Isola. former Dartmouth line coach, used to say: "What you lose on the oranges, you make up on the bananas." And '53 did just that! After the game, the Hotel Continental in Cambridge was the scene of spirits quickly revived and old friendships renewed. At the height of the party it was estimated that there were about 50-75 members of '53 present (not to mention wives, dates, and parents), with 25 or more members of other classes joining in the fun. "When a group will stand from quarter to five 'till nine P.M. - Confucius say: "All present, good time had." Our thanks go to Howie Clery in making this traditional '53 gathering one of the best ever. Just a few of the faces I caught - Alger, Barnett, Bigham, Bloomer, Blum, Callender, Carleton, Clery, Cobb, Cook, John Corcoran, Courtney, Crisp, Dorsett, Dunham, Edgar, Fleet, Fleming, Henderson, Horton, Bill Johnson, Kay, Malin, Mattoon, Melcher Mitchell, Gib Murphy, Newton, Osborn, Paganucci, Kes Pierson, Senne, Simpson, Spiegel, Dave Stanley, Stiles, Vitalis, and "Whittemore.

Before the game on Saturday, the Class Executive Committee met in Howie Clery's home to discuss matters pertaining to class affairs. Several major decisions were reached concerning the ALUMNI MAGAZINE and Regional Class meetings. The full details of these discussions will be brought to you via a Class Chairman's Report very soon. Charlie Buchanan also advised the committee that the class dues program was coming along nicely; he, however, urged those who had not sent their check to him to please do so as soon as possible.

The weekend and all of its events made each one a little bit more proud he wore the green and was a member of a class that continues to grow stronger and stronger through mutual friendship and devotion to Dartmouth.

The modern version of "Black Dan" Webster's famous Dartmouth College Case was recently re-enacted when our own Bill Johnson was admitted to practice before the New Hampshire Bar on September 3 and immediately proceeded to argue a case before the jurists concerning a College trust case, Bill won the verdict, thereby bringing great credit to himself, his law firm of Cotton, Tesreau, and Stebbins of Lebanon, N. H., and, of course, the College. In the field of law, Ralph Heyman, a member of the Ohio and Illinois bars, has recently had published his study of "Estate Planning and Conflict of Laws" written in partial fulfillment of the degree of Master of Laws from the University of Cincinnati.
