The Dartmouth Club of Southeastern Mass. held their annual meeting at the Red Coach Grill in Middleboro on the evening of October 20, 1958. Forty-four men were present and after a social hour and fine meal a short business meeting was held, at which the following officers were elected for the year 1958-1959:
President, Sam Crocker '31 of Wareham; Vice-Presidents, Robert Leary '49 of Middleboro and Henry "Woods '36 of Marion; Sec.- Treas., Gardner Akin '23 of New Bedford; Representative to the executive committee of the Boston Club, Caleb Thomas '31 of Middleboro. The above men together with Allen Sherman '15 of New Bedford and Thomas Burrell '39 of Fall River will serve as Directors.
Jack Benson '31, Vice Pres. of the National Shawmut Bank of Boston and Vice Pres. of the Boston Alumni Association spoke informally on the activities and meetings planned by the Boston Club for the fall and winter months.
President Crocker then introduced our speaker, Captain Lionel V. Patenaude, assistant information services officer, North American Air Defense Command, USAF. He spoke and showed pictures dealing with the Airborne Early Warning System. His talk was enthusiastically received and many questions were asked.
Men from classes prior to 1920 set a wonderful example for the rest of us and turned out especially well. Here is the list: Theodore N.
