Joe Raphael, who has been through a series of operations and hospitalization for the past two years, is now improving and gaining strength. It would do him a lot of good to hear from his old friends, and a note now and then would be greatly appreciated. Bill Sykes writes that although he is a "stumble bum of 82 years," he is still in fine shape and enjoying life. Porto Rico was hit with a severe drought last summer so that there was very little income from the farm. However, conditions are better now, and he looks forward to a successful and prosperous crop this coming year. We hope that you make Hanover this June, Bill, we missed you last year.

The Christmas report from the Hathaway Ranch, Tucson, Ariz., is as cheery and bright as usual. Dora and John have made many improvements this past year, and with church activities and neighborhood gatherings keep busy. The family group has happily increased as Constance left Boston and is now with them in Tucson, and has a position in a local office. They all enjoy the wonderful mountains and sunsets, and are certainly sold on Arizona.
