The Roy Thorpes are somewhere in Florida. Sue Hanlon has been at St. Pete until Feb. 24. She was going somewhere on the East coast after that.
I picked out the following from the column of Haydn Pearson in the Boston Herald: "Horace Kidger of East Wakefield, N. H., tells me that the robins ate his tomatoes this year, and he did not mean just pecking because they devoured the whole tomato. He never had that happen before. They also ate two bushels of Concord grapes from the vines." I agree with Horace that robins are very destructive birds. Yet they are protected from shooting and blue jays are not. I have found blue jays quarrelsome but they are the only birds I ever saw with gypsy moth caterpillars in their bills.
The Hopkins dinner will have been held before you read this, and as this is written February 1, I have no report on '03 attendance.
You will probably hear from Dick Brown about the reunion before long. Give him a yes answer if you can.
Frenchie will probably be after us in his job as class agent. He did a wonderful job last year: let's make it possible for him again this year!
