Gene and Howard Hall are at the Royal Palms, Fort Myers, probably staying until mid-April. Howard says they have had some cold weather with rain and wind but even so they would not trade it for what they have had up home.

The Chronicle, the St. Stephen's Church Bi-monthly for November and December, has a very fine tribute to Doug Vanderhoof. Van had been editor of it for the past twelve years and had made the many-sided activities of the Parish very readable. The following resolution was adopted by the Vestry:

WHEREAS, Douglas Vanderhoof, eminent physician devoted civic leader and consecrated churchman, departed this life on Thursday, October 31, 1957; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Vanderhoof was St. Stephen's most beloved communicant, having devoted the major portion of his retirement years to the daily life of Church and having served as a member of its vestry; its Junior Warden, its Senior Warden, and was its Honorary Senior Warden for life; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Vanderhoof's loving care and concern for every phase of the life of the Parish will ever be an inspiration to those who follow him;

NOW'THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Vestry of St. Stephen's Episcopal hereby record its deep sorrow over the passing of Douglas Vanderhoof and its heartfelt appreciation for all that he meant to this" Parish; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this resolution be spread upon the Parish records and published in The Chronicle and a copy forwarded to Mrs. Vanderhoof.

Floss and Jim Kimball spent a warm and comfortable winter right in their home in Hingham, instead of going to Florida as was their custom some years ago. Knowing full well all their comforts, with plenty to eat and drink, very fortunate in their help, and plenty of wood for the fireplace, we do not blame them.

Perley Grant, the "old general," writes that all is well in Three Rivers. This particular Parish is the smallest he has had since he was a student but he is the happiest and he thinks the busiest: "A happy closing of a ministry that began in the fall of 1900 at Cornish, N. H.," his senior year in College. He and Hazel are planning to be in Hanover in June for our informal reunion. By the way, those dates are June 20-21-22, and reservations have been made with host "Jim" McFate to take care of us at the Inn as he did so splendidly last June.

You have all read the full accounts of Hoppy's 80th Birthday Party held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New "York, February 5, and we can assure you it was a wonderful happy affair, well-planned and very efficiently managed. Five of us had the pleasure of attending and sharing in honoring our classmate. Frank Cudworth, Swampy Marsh, Harry Gilmore, Johnnie Ward and Steve Stevens made up the delegation. We are in receipt of a most appreciative note from Hoppy, expressing his pleasure in having us there, and how deeply he was moved by our attendance.... The next day I was able to make a short call on Joe and Maude Raphael. Found Joe just home from the hospital. He is still confined to the house and has to be very careful but he is the same old Joe in spirit and is ever eager to hear about old friends and to hear from them.
