If time could be measured by the interims between the times we sit down to write these notes, it's for sure that the months fly by at an accelerating rate. During the past one came a birthday too, and that doesn't help in trying to retain one's feeling of youth.

Always fun, is reporting the new arrivals to the '48 community. This month we have word of Peggy Louise, new arrival at the Al Epstein house on December 19. In the form of a report card from schoolmaster BillStanden, comes the report of Bradford Blackmore on February 6. This brings the Standen progeny to a total of two boys now.

In the engagement department, FrankRimbach and Miss Joan Elizabeth McElroy of Providence announced their intentions on February 16. She is a graduate of Lincoln School, Providence, and Bryn Mawr College, teaching currently in the East Providence school system. Frank is with F. L. Rimbach Advertising Agency in Fitchburg.

Barry Marks has been promoted to Assistant Professor of English at Brown University. He took his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Minnesota and has been at Brown since 1955. He has done work in American Literature on Whitman and Mark Twain and is currently revising his doctoral thesis, "The Idea of Propaganda in America," for publication.

Tom Baldwin has taken an apartment (1-E) at 20 Brookside Drive in Greenwich, Conn. ... Saul Kwartin's new address is Harvest Hill Lane, Stamford, Conn.... Dr. Maurice Levy is at 2007 Austin, Amarillo, Tex.... Charlie Major is with the Department of Physiology of the University of Rochester, N.Y.... Pete Owen has moved from Detroit to Bucks County, Pa. New address is 1738 Bridgetown Pike, Feasterville, Pa.... Foxy Parker may be located at R.F.D. 31, Pound Ridge, N.Y.... Alex Proctor is with Industrial Scale Models, Atkins & Merrill, Inc., South Sudbury, Mass. At home at 43 Porter Road, Natick, Mass.... The Don Ryans have moved from their near-Northside apartment in Chicago to 1508 Hinman, Evanston, Ill. The Joe Smiths have moved a few miles to Cross Ridge Road, Chappaqua, N.Y.... Dr. John Turner's new address is 227 Griswold Drive, Youngstown, Ohio.... Marty Ullman has forsaken the smog and now lives at 700 Parsons, La Habra, Calif.
