In spite of the fact that some alumni were still digging out from the blizzard of the previous weekend, 107 alumni, wives and dates were on hand for your Philadelphia Dartmouth Club's Annual Dinner on February 19 at the Merion Cricket Club.

At the business meeting, these new officers were elected: Edwin H. Fowler II '53, President; Richard W. Lippman '42, Vice-President; and Stewart H. Steffey '41, Member-at-Large of the Executive Committee for a two-year term. Secretary Russell C. Dilks '51 and Treasurer Samuel R. Roberts '51 were re-elected. Robert S. March '47 will serve his second year as a Member-at-Large of the Executive Committee. H. Stewart Young '50 was re-appointed as Local Enrollment Chairman, and John C. Heston Jr. '54 was named as Program Chairman.

Illness and the blizzard created no small end of difficulty for our speaker, but the College's Director of Development, George C. Colton '35, finally got through the snow drifts and the vagaries of the Pennsylvania Railroad, whose electric engines were breaking down, to bring us up to date on developments in Hanover. The evening concluded with dancing to the strains of a five-piece orchestra.

By the time you read this, recruitment for our 1958 team in the Interclub Softball League will be under way. If you can swing a mean bat, pitch, catch, field or anything else useful, get in touch with Jack Young '47 during business hours at LOcust 8-2131.

Also by the time you read this, our dues notice for 1958 will have been out for about a month. Last year's dues-paying membership was 183; this year's should go over 200. We especially recommend our "Big Chief" membership which, for an additional $15, will provide you with free tickets to most of our Club activities during the coming year. Pay your dues now, then come out and join in the fun and fellowship enjoyed by Dartmouth alumni in the Philadelphia area.
