Much to my surprise these notes are coming from Florida. Because of the sudden death of a family friend who was renting our Florida house we had to make a hurried exit and upset all Thanksgiving and Christmas plans. For any Elevener who is to be in this state this winter, the address is 218 West Rogers Street, Clearwater, and phone number is 31-5793.

It is a sad duty to have to record the deaths of four more stalwart Eleveners about whom you may read in the In Memoriam section. Let's pay a silent tribute to Jim Cuddy, Bob Kimball, Howard Power and Carl Stucklen.

Here is news about Marion Agry. She has sold the Etna home in which she and Warren had looked forward to enjoying their retirement. The lucky purchaser was Jim Campion III whose six children can romp and play and revel in the beautiful view. Marion has moved back to Rye, N. Y., Blind Brook Lodge after a year's absence. Warren Jr. is now located in Rye, as he has been promoted by the Simmons Company to the New York area.

Notice has been received that Ted O'Leary has joined the retired class and has settled on Pleasant Street, Bass River, Mass.

Jack and Dorothy Steeves are now back from their recent trip to Europe. This time they specialized on Switzerland and Spain, but were also visiting in France and some of the Scandinavian countries.

Mert Wilson reporting in from Washington, D. C., said he and Katherine were celebrating their wedding anniversary by visiting parts of the country they had not seen before.

Melrose, Mass., welcomes the returning native, Sticky Pendelton, who now receives mail in Box 124. He spent a weekend in Hanover in the fall, where he and I took in the Brown game via the local radio. There seems to be little chance of his entering into matrimony.

Josh and Polly Clark are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Dick to Louise Keenan on Saturday, Nov. 15. Josh describes her as a handsome "red head."

Bob Keeler is back in business with a Cincinnati Investment company, Saunders, Stiver & Co., 1008 First National Bank Building. Bob is living with his son, Bob who has been made a partner in the law firm of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister. His son, Tom is doing very well in Texas. Marge, now Mrs. A. R. Payne, is with their daughter, Virginia, who also lives in Cincinnati.

Bendy Griswold finds a lot of optimists in the class. He says "I notice that some who have paid dues only a year at a time have paid the entire balance this year."

And here is another reminder of youth and vigor. Bob Barstow is just back from his eighteenth foreign safari, this time limited to a few stops, Oslo, Copenhagen, The Hague, Paris, Vienna, Athens, Beirut, Istanbul, and London. His objective, as usual, was consultation with the Overseas Union Churches serving the American families living in those areas. He naively adds, "Between conferences and consultations, I fill in the chinks of time by visiting the Little Mermaid of Copenhagen, or the Museums of Delft; the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, or the moonlit Acropolis at Athens. From Beirut I took hasty looks at Bilbos and Baalbek, going back thousands of years, and in Istanbul I divided my time between lively modern educational institutions and ancient mosques and mosaics." He is being retired for "old age and decrepitude" at the end of December.

Rockport, Mass., is the winter home of Art and Rebecca Shepherd at 70 Main St. Art commutes to New York twice a month. He must be getting into the old man's class too!

Thanks to Brad and Barbara Patten who had a daughter, Betty, who married a doctor, Chick Jordan has made a rapid and successful recovery from the removal of a very large sized handsome, brown gall-stone.

The Pattens are happily situated and enjoying their Argentinian life. Brad is helping to set up some research activity in the fields indicated by his address, which is c/o Dr. E. de Roberti, Inst. Anatomica General y Embryologia, Paraguay 2155, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is also starting a course in Embryology there.

From Cap Caproni: "Industry picking up, new factories and additions. Busy. I don't retire because I have no hobbies, doctor says 'your work is your hobby, but take it easy, and delegate work to your assistants.' So I do." An enclosed photo, taken this year, would indicate that he will be working for many years to come.

Please, any classmate who is in Florida or is coming here this winter and will be near Clearwater, give me a call. I will fix you a drink and then challenge you to a game of shuffle-board, or we will go fishing. I prefer the latter.
