Ford Whelden, newly-elected chairman of the executive committee, has announced with clearly-justifiable enthusiasm that Larry- Leavitt, our retired schoolmaster, has agreed to serve as our head class agent. As Ford stated "There is no more respected or loyal man in the Class, and he will bring new vigor and energy to the job." But our editorial question is: "How could anyone show more energy than that expended by Ford during the past several years?"

Readers of "Sports Illustrated" could not miss the recent picture of Skipper Richard Nye in a two-page spread depicting his trip "across an angry Atlantic" in his 53-foot yawl, Carina. Paul Pearson has a Fulbright Grant to teach at the Rossall School in Lancashire, England, this year.

Pete Kelsey observed his thirtieth anniversary with Marsh & McLennan late last spring. At a testimonial luncheon he was presented with a leather-bound book entitled "The Kelseys, a Family of Underwriters," which contained career sketches of his family beginning with his grandfather and ending with his son, Tom. Pete has been in charge of the company's West Coast operation since 1946. Curt Abel had been named a vice president of Young & Rubicam and is serving the organization as manager of its Los Angeles office. Ralph Gaskill has been named assistant vice president of National Bank of Detroit, with which he has been associated since 1933. He is also treasurer and a director of Safe Deposit Company of Detroit. Marty Huberth has moved to North Thetford, Vt., where he reportedly plans to operate a nursery and Christmas-tree business on a 50-acre tract during his retirement years.

Steve Chase was selected as Man-of-theMonth for June by the monthly magazine of the East Texas Chamber of Commerce. Julie and Ed Hewitt were the proud grandparents by daughter, Mary Leslie, of David Waddell Bird II early this summer. Whitey White has been named vice president of the North Shore Dartmouth Club.
