Our congratulations go out to Harry Gilmore Jr., for his very fine showing in the "Go Dartmouth" competition in the Capital Gifts Campaign, this past year. As class agent he brought 1934 in first place in Group IV. Like father like son, shall we say, remembering Gillie's work for us as class agent.
Bill Cheever reports he is still going strong with the weight of his many years (83) on his shoulders, but still walking upright, and full of vigor.
Mary Elizabeth Stevens attended the global conference on Electronic Calculators in Paris in June, representing the United States Bureau of Standards. She presented a paper covering some of the experiments conducted at the Bureau on Information Processing. The future possibilities of such work is truly amazing.
As has been their custom for some years Waldo Davis and his sister toured the western part of the country. This year they crossed the continent via Omaha and spent some days in Yellowstone Park. Then on to San Francisco, which they had not seen for twenty years but found it still their favorite city. Another traveler was Gardy Cobb who toured Canada, enjoying Toronto and Montreal. Sad to relate however, Gardy did not see a single horse.
Frank and Elsie Cudworth have sold their home in Birmingham and are now living in Concord, Mass. They spent several weeks down in Maine this summer and had the pleasure of a chat over the phone with Hoppy. Hoppy told them how to locate George Pingree, so they later called on "Ping," and had a most enjoyable visit with him at his beautiful home at Northport.
Whiskers Crowell on his return from Florida in June, spent several weeks with his son Maj. Bill Crowell and his family in DuBois, Penna. This summer he has been enjoying the company of his daughters and their families in and about Cleveland. To our amazement we are told Mortie has not been following the ponies this year. He will soon be making his way south to Kissimmee where he will stay at his old haunt, the Brahman Inn.
Gertrude Warren has become a great-grandmother for the second time and is very happy with this new addition to her family. We sure did miss her and Ned in Hanover last June.
Chan Cox, as we all well know, has been an active leader in Greater Boston business, political, and civic activities since his graduation from college. He resigned this summer from the Board of Directors of the Boston Herald-Traveler Corporation after a service of 32 years.
