It is a painful duty to report four of our classmates have recently passed away. Buzz Buswell, Doc Colton, Moses Perkins and Steve Tredennick are no longer with us. The class will sadly miss each of them and its deepest sympathy goes to their families. Our sorrowful losses are reported more fully in the Memoriam section.
Thoughts of Doc Colton revived recollections of those eight young freshmen from Buffalo who came to Hanover in that unforgettable autumn of 1918. One of our largest groups from any city, they were: Kerry Bull, Doc Colton, Lloyd Flagg, Freddie Fredericks, Ozzie Holland, Herm Oliver, Ozzy Siegfried, and Mead Stewart. Doc Lloyd and Mead have left us, but the others are all hale and hearty and let's hope they stay that way.
Our Sterry R. Waterman, judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, was honored recently in New York. Sterry, reports the Herald Tribune, was selected to read the lesson before hundreds of members of the judiciary and bar at a service in Trinity Church. This annual service at the opening of the judicial season to invoke the blessing of God upon the courts of justice is sponsored by the Church Club of New York and the Protestant Council of the City of New York.
Prof. Herb West, declares the Daily Dartmouth, was honored last summer in Edinburgh by the Scottish International Pen (Poets, etc.) Society. To members of the society he delivered an address entitled "Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham: Modern Conquistador." Herb is the author of the first biography of Cunninghame Graham, Scottish poet, world traveler, Member of Parliament, and leader of the Scottish National Party. During his stay in Scotland, Herb was the house guest of Admiral Sir Angus Cunninghame Graham, a nephew of the writer.
From obviously myopic and admittedly unreliable sources come these clearly incomplete reports of Twoters seen at early football games in Hanover: Holy Cross: Gray and Dottie Bates, Bob Booth, Tony Hanlon, Len Morrissey, Jack Taylor, Dick Willis. Brown: Bob and Grace Clark, Carroll and Nan Dwight, Len and Margaret Morrissey.
Following the Boston College game, Carterand Alie Hoyt were hosts to several Saturday evening quarterbacks. The game was completely analyzed and synthesized by coaches Carroll and Nan Dwight, Bill and Betty Mann, Len and Margaret Morrissey, Waltand Doris Sands. Missing were coaches Bill and Odie Lee Bullen in Louisiana, apparently scouting L.S.U.
Prior to a rainy but most satisfactory afternoon at Harvard, Carroll and NanDwight were hosts to a group of pre-game strategists: Roy and Dottie Ball on from Flint, Mich., with daughter Barbara and her husband Don Bacon, Gray and Dottie Bates, Meg (Dwight) Bens and husband David, Peter Dwight '54 and guest Pat Conroy, AlieHoyt - Carter away on business, Fran andLucy Leland, Len and Margaret Morrissey,Walt and Doris Sands.
While recently traversing the Ohio Territory, Elmer Ardiff had a most pleasant visit with our Elyria attorney, King Fauver. Ard says King is healthy, happy and age-resistant.
By Bell System microwave from New York: Bill Haas, Larry Healy, Stan Miner, and Bill Morrell are all in orbit and track each other from time to time. During the summer Bill and Margaret Morrell had a most enjoyable visit as guests of Ted and Bab Davidson at their Lake George home. Bill and Margaret also joined the single topic society of grandparents last June when son Hugh and his wife Penelope (Schroeder) presented these Twoters with their first grandchild.

Good luck to all at their new hostels.
Apropos gadding about and setting up a new wigwam comes welcome news of our Bob and Babe Burgess. Scuttlebutt has it they spent the summer in solitude, canoe tripping under the surveillance of an Indian guide at Fort Francis, Ont. In October Bob and Babe returned to their newly-built home at 950 Harbor Drive, Delray, Fla. Twoters hitchhiking to Florida will appreciate rumor that 950 Harbor Drive is completely air conditioned and fully equipped for hospitality to members of the clan.
Good luck to Richard Suttmeier '63 who is none other than the freshman son of our Sutty and Harriet. Informants also report Sutty and Harriet frequently enjoy seeing Bill and Adele Haas.
And whether it be green or white, cloudy or sunny, a real Merry Christmas to all the clan everywhere.
