Dear Gang - This month we'd like to pay particular attention to a number of '46s who have been and are extremely active in both local Alumni Club affairs and in the 200th Anniversary Capital Gifts Campaign: Right here in Dayton, Dick Scharrer is the local club's Interviewing Chairman and has worked hard to send fine young men to "the Plain." Both he and Frank O'Neill (and we all see one another often) worked on the Capital Gifts Campaign and did a good job Other prominent '46s who have really "put out" for the Big Green in this tremendous undertaking are Don Wales and Dick Bowser for the South Shore, Mass., Dartmouth Club; Ed Brunhoff is chairman of the general campaign in Grand Rapids; Brad Morehouse was a captain in the Bridgeport, Conn., campaign. Out in the Midwest, Chuck Perry (the old dress peddler) was a captain in Detroit, Jack Witte ditto in Toledo and in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Walt Wingate was a member of the executive committee and Dick Dunnavan was a team captain. Hats off to all these stalwarts and many others who grave a lot of tremendous time and effort in furthering the Dartmouth cause.

Names in the News - The third Protestant minister in our class ranks (the others are George Razee and Don Fitzsimmons), Rev. Paul Barnes, has been appointed Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Waltham Mass. Paul had been pastor at the South' Congregational Church in Braintree and also spent time as minister of the Wollaston Mass., Congregational Church. Paul's training is of the very finest and after graduating from McCormick Seminary, a Presbyterian graduate school, he held a number of posts and did further graduate study at Yale Divinity School where he got his Master of Sacred Theology degree. Paul and his wife have four sons and have now taken up residence at the Congregational manse at 85 Greenwood Lane in Waltham. Congrats and good luck in your new venture, Rev.
