Our class will be greatly saddened at the news of the passing of three of its members since the last opportunity to report to you.

Arthur D. O'Shea died suddenly at the Laconia hospital on July 1 following a shock. The Laconia Evening Citizen mourns him as Laconia's first citizen. He was at the Vero Beach reunion in apparent good health last March. His college career is well known to all. Since graduating he has interested himself in about everything for the good of his city, state and 1908. which should be said will appear as an obituary elsewhere. Thus passes another Dartmouth nobleman.

Dr. Harold O. Rugg, whom we remember as nationally prominent in the educational field and author of many books on the subject, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Woodstock, N. Y. on May 18. He and his wife had just completed a world tour stopping at New Delhi, India, where he was to be the main speaker at an international conference. Harold was professor emeritus at Columbia Teachers College and in recent years had taught at the University of Puerto Rico. His schedule prevented his attendance at our 50th but he had expected to attend the informal reunion when death intervened.

On April 2, William W. Lee of West Barrington, R. X., passed away following the amputation of his right leg in a courageous fight against cancer. Bill had followed a teaching career since leaving college and this took him to several school posts, his latest and final one being Principal of the Pawtucket, R. I., High School, which position he had held since 1924 up to his retirement in 1951. Bill had not attended class reunions in past years and his presence at our 50th was a matter of much pleasure to him and to all of us.

Harry Rogers has resigned as Chairman of the New Hampshire Forestry and Recreation Commission, a position which he had held for some years with great distinction. Early in July he was reported as a hospital patient, but he was getting along satisfactorily and admitted that he was going to take it a bit easier which, we submit, is a pretty good idea.

Early in July Art Anderson was reported in the hospital with a broken collar bone as a result of a fall from a ladder. Little boys and elderly men should keep off those things, anyway.

Helen and Dick Merrill celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on July 5. That's an attainment. Dick writes, "We both keep quite well considering our various afflictions, and also keep real busy which is nice." He says that he spends three or four hours a day working about the place.

PLEASE NOTE, an important change of address. Syd Ruggles has returned to live with his son, the address being R.F.D. 1, Laconia, N. H., which is the same address as given in our 50th year book.
