It is always nice to start off a new column with good news.
All reports from Hanover are that Charlie Griffith is doing fine. A sudden onset of his illness occurred while Susan and Charlie were on their way to the Mediterranean last February with Madelaine and Jack Bowler. Following his immediate return home and several weeks in the Hitchcock Hospital, he is now at home in Norwich. His progress has been extremely favorable. Here is a picture of Charlie and Susan which Speed Granger took on a visit to them in May. He continues to progress. Charlie is now getting back into activity, walking around, climbing stairs, and probably itching at the doctors' brakes. His sense of humor functions well in laughing at his occasional word blocks - but no one could imagine Charlie having embarrassing substitutes"slip through! if you drop a note, don't expect acknowledgement because Susan is busy and has no secretary - but we wanted you to have this report.

Cocktails and the sumptuous buffet which followed added zest to the affair as well as luster to Bob's fame as a host!

Hal Claflin coasts up to Boston occasionally from Brewster and said he ran into Bob Frothingham and Jack Burbank at a Dartmouth Club lunch at the Hyannis Yacht Club some time ago. Chan and Dot Fosterwere reported entertaining a couple granddaughters from Kentucky early in the summer. Some of the snaps, they took are breathtaking.
