1904 had its 56th Class party at the Parker House in Boston October 21, the night before the Harvard game. Ten classmates were present: Carl, Robbie, Squid, Pen, Sex, Terry, Matt, Jack Doonan, Jimmie Walker and Beck. Mrs. Tommy Uniac, Sally and our friend Mrs. Hollingsworth joined us for cocktails - nice party.
A few of the gang attended the game. Your Secretary, a former All-American Tuck School half back, of sixty years ago, watched the game with some critical expert knowledge, and had to admit Harvard played a smarter game and won 9-6.
Quite a few of the boys, who could not be present at the dinner and game, sent messages for the dinner. No one complained of aches and pains. We assumed you were all well and hope you keep so all winter.
Charlie Davis thinks we ought to have a new address book. There are a number of new addresses. Your Secretary means to keep you informed each month of any changes. Matt Bullock, 20 Pemberton Square, Boston, Mass.; Rosy Hinman's winter quarters - 103 Rogers Street, Clearwater, Fla.; Red Hatch, 851 4th Street, Santa Monica, Calif. Write these guys and check up on them. Why do boys leave home?
Swell letter from the Withams with five children, four daughters and a son, and Myron's latest count - twenty-one grandchildren - nice family. Out of that gang Myron ought to turn out for Dartmouth an Ail-American quarterback, just to keep up with Grandpa.
The Slaytons were intrigued by my Ubyol - and concluded it meant "You bet your old life on Dartmouth." Bill, I didn't mean to lead you astray.
On November 8 George L. Scales passed away suddenly at his home in Pontiac, Mich. The funeral service was held on Friday, November 11. A further notice will appear in a later issue of the MAGAZINE.
Another big loss has come to the Class and to Dartmouth College in the sudden passing of our classmate, King Woodbridge, of a heart attack while in London, on October 16. Your Secretary recently received a letter from J. Frank Drake '02, from Germany, in which he told of crossing to England aboard the Queen Elizabeth, on September 21, with King and spent many hours with him. He appeared in excellent health, and King said he planned to retire in the near future. He has gone to his long rest. King came to us from Somerville High School. In college he was a member of Phi Delta Theta, Athletic Council, Editor of the Dartmouth '03-'04, Dartmouth Board, Palaeopitus and C. and G. A loyal classmate, generous of his means in support of Class and College. Deeply respected by all for the extraordinary success he had made in the business world. His obituary will be found in another section of this issue of the MAGAZINE. Your Secretary has expressed to the family the sympathy and respect of all classmates.
