Dear Gang - Well, 1962 Reunion plans are under way. Your Executive Committee met over the Harvard-Dartmouth weekend in Boston, October 21-22, being hosted by Jackand Jeanie Whitman in Wellesley. We had a good weekend and got some things accomplished, even though we couldn't root home the Big Green against Harvard. "Big Ted"Fajen flew in from Milwaukee in his Bonanza 4-seater and was the life of the party as usual; Ted as you know, is reunion chairman for our big 15th and already is at work with a lot of terrific ideas. Those at the Executive Committee meeting were the following: "Faj," Newsletter Editor Jack Whitman, Treasurer Andy Murtha, Chip Coleman,George Little, Bobby Kimball and yours truly. In the absence of your chairman, RegPierce, your secretary presided and the following action among other things was taken. A steering committee was appointed to plan ahead toward 1962 Reunion and for purposes of general class guidance. "Jack the Growler" Whitman was named chairman of this group with those in attendance as members, plus Reg Pierce, Bill Schulting and Ben Moats. Bob Kimball was appointed chairman of the nominating committee for election of officers at the 1962 Reunion and aiding him on that committee are Jack Whitman and Andy Murtha. In regard to Reunion, Chip Coleman, Ben Moats and George Little were appointed to Faj's Reunion committee (Frank Ettari some time ago had been appointed as Faj's co-chairman). Another subject discussed was the need for a new Memorial Fund chairman (since Aud Brindley's death) and more activity in this regard. As you all know, we will be expected to come up with $100,000+ by our 25th and this will be a major project of the steering committee in the next several years. All in all it was a good gathering and we feel that a number of things were accomplished for class betterment. It was agreed that all class officers andmembers of the Executive Committee would,if at all possible, meet in Hanover again inMay of 1961 at the annual class officer'sweekend for further class and Reunion planning.

Saturday night after the game, the Whitmans graciously hosted a spirited post-football game party at their house and those inattendance were: Andy and June Murtha,Don and Margaret Furber (who live rightacross the street from the Whitmans inWellesley), Major Clark Judge and his wife(up from the Quantico Marine Corps Base),Ben and Jerry Moats (who just bought abattle field homesite with a lot of acreage inConcord, Mass. - Ben will commute to Fitchburg), Nort and Blanche Virgien (Nort's inthe radio business in Hartford), Bob andJackie Kimball, Charlie Whitmore and wife,Chip Coleman (the political and legal eaglefrom Asbury Park), Mack Grove (all the wayin from California on an aircraft assignmentfor his company), Ham and Nancy Bailey(he's in the insurance business), Old halfbackJoe and Nina Sullivan '49, Perry and GinnyAnderson '47, Bob and Phyllis Swift '48,George and Ellen Pierce '45, "Big Faj" andyours truly.

Disa and Data - Boy! Bud Scheu is really heavy on the publicity - after we had written our story about Bud in the October issue, the magazine added a picture of him for the mag and also inserted in our column, another story about him - We'd say his public relations have been pretty fair.... BradMorehouse recently directed the professional division in the Fairfield, Conn., Community Chest's annual fund drive - Brad practices law and lives there with his wife, Lorna and their five children.... To those of you who read the November 4 issue of Time Magazine, did you notice the Chase Manhattan Bank's full page ad? If you will look closely you will see a picture taken in the old church in Lyme, N. H. You will recognize Prof. Roy Chamberlain (former Chaplain of the College) on the stage and possibly certain other Hanover figures. The photo was taken by Bob Keene '30 who runs the Keene's Ski Lodge just outside of town and the whole ad Was handled by our own RegPierce for Compton Advertising.

'Round the Girdled Earth - Prof. Red Copenhaver is spending the fall semester at the University of California, Department of Biochemistry in Berkeley. Jim Dolby is a staff engineer with Lockheed Aircraft in Palo Alto, Calif., and living in Los Altos. Also in the Golden State are "Nemo" Anderson in Pacific Palisades, Hank Parker in Redding and Bob Stevenson in Glendale. JohnnyKnipple is still in the Navy as a lieutenant commander based at the naval air station in Corpus Christi. Charlie Vaniman, my neighboring Ford dealer, recently had a hole-in-one at our Plantation Country Club.

It is unfortunate that I close on a sad note - we have just received word of the death of Henry H. "Hank" Dodd, in a crash landing of a Naval Air Force plane at Patuxent Field, Md., on October 18. Our deepest sympathy goes to his family and a more complete story will appear in the "In Memoriam" section of a subsequent issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. That's it - '46 up! "Gus"
