One of the rewards tor being a class secretary is the Christmas greetings sent in by classmates. They would be doubly appreciated, however if only some personal items were included so there would be news for the class notes.
Walt Powers' card had plenty of good cheer for it was almost a yard long. Other cards came from Chellis, Cromwell, Pratt,Norm Russell, and Bill Woods. From Cap Pierce came a copy of his new booklet published this year, entitled "Words to Build On." Art Chapin's card had excellent pictures of son David and Debbie, his bride, and daughter, Frannie, and her husband, Scott.
Catherine and Art Chapin are home from their tour of Europe, having visited Scotland, England, Holland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and France. Art tried so hard to learn to speak the language of the different countries that now he is back home he has difficulty with his English.
A letter from Charlie Luck advises that his wife, Coriane, passed away just a few months before they would have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Mrs. Laurence Whittemore, wife of our only honorary member, died the day before Christmas. The class extends its sincere sympathy to Whit and her three sons. She is also survived by a sister, who is the wife of our Herb Rainie.
On January 8 Eleanor and I set sail from New York on a Grace Line cargo ship for a trip around South America. As we will be gone for two months Art Chapin has again very kindly agreed to take over my job. I hope he will be able to get more news from our classmates than I have.
Warner White has deserted the island of Nantucket and is now located at 69 Foote St., Staten Island 1, N. Y.
Have just received word of the death of Elizabeth Nuelle, daughter of Myrtle and JoeNuelle, in Dallas, Texas, the last of December. Our sincere sympathy is extended to them.
