Ros Magill was one of the two tax consultants who prepared a report for the Governors of New Jersey and Connecticut to submit to Governor Rockefeller of New York, seeking a more equitable basis of taxation for the residents of the first named states who work in New York. Ros is the interstate tax consultant to Governor Ribicoff of Connecticut, and while he doesn't expect that full justice will be done at this time by our Dartmouth colleague he hopes that some of the more glaring inequities in the 30-year-old interstate tax dispute will be lessened.

To the list of our retired classmates can now be added the names of Gene McQuesten,Ralph Parker, Cliff Bean, Chan Green andRog Evans. I understand that Cliff is directing his energies, of which he has plenty, to the development of his Hampton acres.

Here is a report on the '16 New York dinners which have not yet hit these columns, Dutch Doenecke reporting: In April Jack Curtin spoke to the gathering about his many years' experience with the General Electric Company, that industrial giant with its 260,000 employees. Jack has traveled extensively for the firm and he mentioned some of the unexpected incidents which occurred in closing some of his big sales. He also spoke of the great strides made by the corporation's research department in developing new products and in effecting economies in the manufacture of consumer items. Having reached the age of retirement this year, Jack is looking forward to leading the life of a country squire. Somehow the impression prevailed that he is going to miss those exciting jaunts on the road.
The May meeting featured none other than Larry Doyle, otherwise known as the Honorable Edward T. Doyle, Mayor of Sea Girt. Larry spoke about civic government and his duties as chief executive in the management of the affairs of a community. The matters of great interest to his constituents are taxation, police protection, fire control, paving, building construction, education, welfare and utilities. Then there is also the arduous pre-election period of campaigning when there is a constant round of speech-making, ringing doorbells and kissing babies. After hearing Larry's talk the men were tempted to move to his ideally governed Sea Girt.
The October evening found the New York gang listening to Milford Streeter, who spoke of his tour through Italy, Switzerland, and Greece with its enchanting islands. By way of illustration, he showed amazingly beautiful color slides which he had taken during the trip. The group was particularly stunned at the awe-inspiring panoramic views Mil had taken of the snow-capped Alps. His pictures of the colorful mosaic work decorating the interior and exterior of Italian cathedrals were likewise superb. There "were also shots of the oil paintings done by the great masters which were amazing in the reproduction of the actual colors. All of the men who attended voted it as another splendid "1916" evening.
The following were at one or more of the meetings: Ames, Conley, Cressy, Cressy Jr., Curtin, DeVoe, Dock, Doenecke, Doyle, Evans, Jones, Lowe, Magill, Pelletier, Pettengill, Leigh Rogers, Freddie Smith, Stackpole, Streeter, Beans Sully, and Wilson. Dutch says that the committee is most anxious to greet Balmacaaners from out of town and that the green carpet will be rolled out for them.
The Secretary of the Treasury has recently appointed Dick Parkhurst to a three-year-term as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Coast Guard Academy at New London. The Dean of the Academy is Captain Albert A. Lawrence '27, whom Dick describes as "an able and personable officer of whom I shall no doubt see a good deal." Another job for another '16-er who will not stay retired.
