Last month we mentioned that Al Colton has moved to California. Al has left the law firm of Fabian and Clendenin in Salt Lake City to get into the ministry. He will study for three years in an Episcopal Seminary. George Welch continues with General Electric Appliances in Ohio. George has been with General Electric since 1947 as a Sales Specialist, Sales Representative and later as a Branch Manager. Dr. Dick Allen is living in Jamesville, Wis.; our information on Dick's family and current occupation and interests is out of date. We lost track of Bourke Welch in 1952 when he was in the Navy. Previous to that he did newspaper work as a reporter, and returned to college to graduate from the University of California in June, 1949. He then became an Account Executive copywriter with the Kemmerrer Advertising Agency in 1950, then moved on to the Training Department of Crowell-Weedon on the Los Angeles Stock Exchange. Bourke married the former Elizabeth McKenzie in Los Angeles in November, 1952.
Bob Craig, Public Relations Manager-Employee Information, was recently appointed General Marketing Supervisor-Research and Facilities, Headquarters. Bob started his telephone career in the Plant Department of the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania as a student engineer, was test center foreman in 1953.
The National Life Insurance Company of Montpelier, Vt., has announced the appointment of Dick Hill as representative of its Manchester, N. H., Agency in the Claremont area. Dick was part owner and sales manager of the Claremont Builders Supply Inc. until his recent decision to enter the field of life insurance sales and service. He wasprogram director of Claremont's Radio Station WTSY from 1948 to 1950, and station manager for the following eight years. After a year as manager of WNOW-AM, FM, and TV in York, Penna., he returned to Claremont to join the builders' supply company. Dick and wife Margaret have two children, ten-year-old Janet and Rickey who is eight.
George Bean was recently elected assistant vice president of the National Bank of Commerce of Norfolk, Va. Previously, he served as assistant cashier. George, in charge of the bank's accounting division, joined the staff in 1954, was elected auditor in 1957. He was elected assistant cashier in 1957.
Mike Pender has accepted a position as Assistant to the Executive Vice President of the New York World's Fair 1964-1965 Corporation. Mike has been with the consulting engineering firm of Madigan-Hyland for the past ten years where he worked on feasibility studies for the New York State Thruway, Tappan-Zee Bridge, Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, New York City Terminal Produce Market, and the Atlantic Railroad in South America.
Captain Bob Ferguson has recently moved from Jacksonville, N. C., to Minneapolis, Minn. Ash Gale is now living in Greenwood, S. C. Bill Garfield continues his missionary work in Seoul, Korea. Al Hall has returned to St. Paul's School in Concord, N.H. Lt. Comdr. Steve O'Leary is now assigned to the USS Corporal, FPO, N.Y.C.
Andy Anderson continues his career with Dennison Manufacturing Company as a Cost Accountant in Framingham, Mass. He has been associated with Dennison since 1950. Earl Welch is a real estate broker in New York City. Previous to that he was with the Irving Trust Company, later in Paris, France, with American Express.
We have also lost track of Bob Ashleigh when he was a Lt. j.g. in the Navy in 1952. In 1948 Bob was Assistant Manager of a hotel in Beaver Falls, Penna. In 1949 he taught at a private boys' school in California. From this he went on to improve his teaching qualifications at Geneva College in 1950. Dr. Irwin Weinstein was at the Veterans' Administration Center in Los Angeles in 1956. Russ Austin continues with the Austin Fuel Company in Margate, N. J. Ben Tice was a Manufacturing Analyst with Convair in Pomona, Calif., in 1956. Previous to this time he was in the Marketing Department of the Standard Oil Company of California, a field representative in the solaramics with the Solar Aircraft Company, and later a methods examiner for the Naval Supply Depot in Los Angeles, jerry Bedell continues his career with Fieldcrest Mills in North California. He has been with Fieldcrest since 1951 with time out for the Marine Corps, and has performed various functions including training of personnel and the coordination of Product Packaging.
Dave Stouten was a Sales Engineer in 1952 with A. O. Stilwell, Fabricators of Metal Products. Clayton Birdsall continues his practice of dentistry in Haverhill, Mass. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry. Roman Stanley was a Research Physicist at the Navy Mine Control Measure Station in 1948. Vic Brum continues his career with the Veterans' Administration Hospital system as a Biochemist in Togus, Me. Vic received a Master of Science degree in 1953 in biochemistry from George Washington University. Phil Segal continues his career with the Commonwealth Grocery Company in Providence, R. I. Dick Cates, a 1951 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, is currently a trial lawyer in Madison, Wis.
