This month of March provided many of our hard-working Class Agents an opportunity to meet at regional gatherings throughout the country to begin another Alumni Fund Campaign. Early and generous support from a majority of our members is the best way to help Head Agent Bob Craig direct us to the completion of our most successful campaign. Each one of us must help.

A picture of Paul Blake scoring a curling match was prominently displayed recently in the magazine section of the Sunday Buffalo Courier Express. Paul promotes the interests of the Portland Cement Association here on the Niagara Frontier. He is an active member of the Eire County Chapter of the New York Society of Professional Engineers and his hobbies include skiing and curling. Further news from this area finds Dick Madison spending a week of leisure in Dallas, Texas, at a frozen food convention.

Bob Grosby has formed a partnership for the general practice of law with William Pelletreau and Gerhard Hohn. The firm name will be Pelletreau, Grosby & Hohn. Offices will be in Norwalk, Conn. Bob was recently elected Vice President for Connecticut of the Federal Bar Association of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He earned his LL.B. degree at Cornell in 1950. Except for time out during the Korean conflict for naval duty, Bob has pursued the practice of law in Norwalk. In 1957, he was assistant clerk of the Connecticut House of Representatives. Bob married the former Eleanor Hurwitz in Manchester, N. H., in 1947. Our records show they have a seven-year-old son, Mark Jonathan.

Jack Daniels continues as advertising manager with the Canadian subsidiary of Minneapolis-Honeywell. He has been with this company since 1949 when he did sales promotion work and later worked in the advertising department on special assignments. Thayer School graduate George Spinney continues his mechanical engineering career in North Wilmington, Mass.

Following is a group of names of classmates from whom we have not had recent news. Bring us up-to-date: Don Symer, previously with the New York Central System; LeRoy "Bear" Davis, previously with R. D. Kimball Co., Boston, in the days when he and George Spinney worked together; EricSwenson, in the Navy during the Korean war; Art Flynn - my records are missing; Arnold Sprung of Croton-on-Hudson, N. Y.; Rich Foard, with Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc. since 1947 where he was Assistant Credit Manager; Jim Davis, doing radar engineering with Raytheon Mfg. Co.

Bob Dodson is with Aluminium Sales, Ltd. in Chicago, Ill. Bob graduated from Harvard Business School in 1950; then began his travels through a job with the Indian Aluminium Co. Ltd., in Calcutta where he was Assistant to the Manager in 1953. In 1955, he studied at the Centre D'Éitudes Industriales in Geneva, Switzerland. What has happened to Herb Smith since the time he was a Naval Aviation Cadet in Corpus Christi? Bill Donahue continues his career with General Electric, living in Jamaica Plain, Mass. He worked with Gilchrist as a supervisor in 1952; later was with Kane's Inc., as Credit Manager, and in 1955 was a field representative for General Electric in Portland, Me.

What is the latest from the following people these days: Dick Somersall of Sherborn, Mass.; Hugh Fraley in the Navy and stationed in Chicago in 1954; Hart Smith of Port Credit, Ontario, Canada; Walter Francis, continuing in the textile business and living in Upton, Mass.; Julian Sayer, living in Stamford, Conn., and continuing his career in the advertising field; Dr. GerryFranklin of New York City; John Rist, in the beverage business in 1954; Ed Gillin, continuing his advertising work in Broomall, Penna.

Bob "Ozzie" Dorion, in Guatemala City, C. A., is Director and Manager of a business enterprise. He has been in this area since 1952. Bob Osterstock continues his career as a professional geologist in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lee Fiske, a 1949 Yale graduate with a Master of Forestry degree, now lives in Greenfield, Mass. Sax Fletcher is a journalist for a Springfield, Mass., newspaper, living in Agawam, Mass. Jock Murray continues his career as a test engineer and technical writer on automotive subjects. Jerry Gillis is associated with the Soldiers Home and Hospital, a veterans' hospital, and lives in Lynn, Mass.

Johnny Ianiri was recently elected vice president of Leo Burnett Company, Inc., in Chicago. He has been with this advertising agency since April 1958 when he joined as an account executive and later became brand supervisor. He previously was account executive with Grey Advertising in New York for four years. John and his wife Eleanor have two children, Jeanne, 8, and John, 6.

Joe Marsh, President of Concord College, has been chosen West Virginia's outstanding young man of 1960 by the State Junior Chamber of Commerce. At 35, Joe is one of the youngest college presidents in the country.

Former assistant attorney general in New Hampshire, John Zimmerman has become a partner in the law firm of Faulkner, Plaut, Hanna and Zimmerman. John left the state attorney general's office and became associated with this law firm in January 1960. He had been an assistant attorney general since 1957. His appointment came while he was an associate of the law firm of Upton, Sanders and Upton in Concord, N. H. He had practiced with the Concord firm since 1951 when he graduated from Boston University Law School. He was also admitted to the New Hampshire Bar the same year. Married to the former Bettey Clodgo, the Zimmermans have four children, Steven, Diane, Carol, and Brian.

For the second consecutive year, attorney Len Bjorklund has been named chairman of the 1961 Heart Fund drive by the Marin County Heart Assn. in California. Len received his law degree from Harvard in 1951 and has practiced law in that state since 1954. He is a former Deputy District Attorney for Alameda county, Calif.

Johnny Peirce received a doctor of philosophy degree from Ohio State University in August, 1959. In 1949 he received his M.A. degree from the same school. Following that he continued as a graduate assistant in English.
