In a letter of June 2 Frank and ElsieCudworth tell of driving in an air-conditioned car from St. Petersburg, Fla., to Sherman, Tex., taking four days to make the 1240 miles. The roads in Florida were excellent, but poor in the other five states and there were miles and miles of roller coasters. Green grass and trees made a re- freshing sight. Here is what they say:

We made the trip to see our young folks and the three grandchildren and incidentally to cele- brate our fiftieth wedding anniversary. We visited the Disney Land of Texas, a thirty-million dollar park between Dallas and Fort Worth called "Texas Under Six Flags,” taking rides by land, sea, and air, ending the day at the Holiday Inn with a golden anniversary cake.

We just had the first rains in the two weeks we have been here and now know about the famous Texas mud. The story is that they don’t have their shoes resoled just get a coating of the mud and when it wears thin get another coat. They just buy two pairs of canvas shoes for the children, putting on dry ones when the muddy ones go into the washing machine.

Besides the mud we encountered the chiggers. They won out, and do their bites itch! We will soon be leaving the mud of Texas for the sands and sand fleas of Florida to spend our first sum- mer there in an air-conditioned apartment. It gets hot in either state.

Perley C. Grant’s book. The Prophet of Calvary Church, has now been published by Vantage Press, 120 West 31st St,, New York 1, N. Y., where copies can be obtained at $3.00 each. This 140-page book is well written and makes interesting reading.

Only four candles on the cake, but itwas AG Smith’s 80th birthday that wasbeing celebrated at a party given forhim by some former business associates.
