A Red Letter Day in the life of Dick andEdie Blum was on October 13 when Peter Lawrence was born giving good reason to move into bigger quarters at 2918 Huntington Road in Cleveland. Our Reunion Chairman is a busy guy these days. September 15 was the day Don Smith left for a two week trip to Europe. He won a sales contest with his firm, the William Carter Company and visited London, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Paris, Lucerne, and Germany. Don says he looks forward to Jim Swift moving into Birmingham, Ala., very shortly. Smittey also says "I will be up for the 10th positively." In the Stiles's Marblehead, Mass., home on June 17 last, Randall Robert Stiles was welcomed via the stork. Bob reports that "the reason for the late report was due to the golf season and much time figuring schemes to avoid any involvement with 2 A.M. feedings. It appears from the way things are going regarding slow infiltration of women students into Dartmouth, that by around 1980 my other Indian, Julie 3, will be getting dates on campus for a pea green named Randy."
For all freeloaders in the Boston area, October 26 was another red letter day. The place— Howie and Connie Clery's wingding prior to the Harvard football game. Bill Johnson found himself sleeping in the wrong bedroom in the hotel. Boston Herald newspaper reporters were kept quiet by some excellent legal maneuvering. Bob Henderson and his social committee ran the blow-out at the Hotel Continental after the victory and all eyes are now being directed towards Yale and Princeton weekends this year and June 21-23 next year.
