Jack Halpin has been appointed by Governor Edmund Brown of California to Superior Judge in Redding, Calif. He is a graduate of Stanford Law School where he had a James Colby Fellowship. He and his wife Sydney, also a lawyer, opened their practice in Redding in 1952 but were forced to work while they waited for their first cases, Jack, for six months as a plywood matcher, and his wife in a bank for two years. Jack helped organize the Shasta Democratic Club and served as president in 1953, 1954, and 1957. He is chairman of the county Democratic central committee and has been a member of the state Democratic central committee since 1958.

Dick O'Haren has been named senior accountant at the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in St. Louis, thereby strengthening the stock of '47 in that section of the country. He joined the telephone company at St. Louis after graduation and held various jobs in the commercial department until 1956 when he transferred to the accounting department as traveling auditor. Dick is married and has one son, fast approaching college age.

Art Bastien is administrative assistant with the publications branch of Raytheon Co. in Waltham, Mass. Jack Carlin is licensing administrator with Rocketdyne Division of North American Aviation, Inc., in Canoga Park, Calif. Paul Carlson is employee information supervisor with New England Tel. & Tel. Co. in Boston, Mass.

Norm Kristal is a buyer in the men's department of Hartley's in Miami, Fla. MacMcCaleb is manager of Technical . Sales Service with Foremost Food and Chemical Co., Oakland, Calif. Roscoe Radcliffe is a senior research chemist with Lever Bros. in Paramus, N. J. Roland Routhier is living in Casablanca, Morocco.

Dick Hill, representative of National Life Insurance Co., has earned membership in the firm's 1962 President's Club. His outstanding record in client service and sales have also qualified him for attendance at the club's educational conference in Hollywood Beach, Fla. Dick achieved the club membership in his first full year with the company. He is associated with the A. T. Hatch general agency in Manchester, N. H. He is a leader in community and civic affairs, and these activities currently include service on the Claremont Zoning Commission and the Citizen's Scholarship Foundation of Claremont.

Bob Ives won an upset victory over longtime Danvers, Mass., Moderator J. Frank Hughes. He conducted the most vigorous battle in an otherwise drab campaign for the position of presiding officer at town meetings. He is past president of the Chamber of Commerce and the Jaycees, and is a director of the Rotary Club. He has operated an insurance agency in Danvers for the past eight years.
