Steve Wilson was named by New Hampshire Governor John W. King to be the geographer for the State Planning Project, a two-year study of the Granite State's recreation industry and recreation development potential. The recommendations of the study will lead to a development plan through the year 2000, and to legislation protecting and controlling the development of recreational resources. Steve previously was a senior planner for Worcester, concentrating on land use in the central city, and while there took a master's degree in geography at Clark University. Governor King, in announcing Steve's appointment, stated: "We were especially fortunate to hire a young man of Stephen Wilson's experience and capability to participate in our State Planning Project. His educational background and experience equip him well to make a substantial contribution to this effort."

Hi Allman says his wedding on July 6 was "a bit out of the ordinary." And here's why: he took the hand of Ase Naustdal, a Norwegian he'd met in New York when she was a TWA hostess, in a traditional Norwegian ceremony in Bergen. The church was over 800 years old, and the bride and other women wore old-style costumes. Ase and Hi rode in a horse-drawn buggy to the church, as well-wishers lined the streets and waved flags. "Really quite exciting," Hi recalls. The reception lasted from 6 p.m. until 7 the following morning. Then the Allmans honeymooned through Norway, Sweden, and Denmark for six weeks, before returning to reality. They're now living in Manhattan, and Hi is with Feist & Feist Real Estate in Newark, N. J.

In other nuptials: Whitey Hamilton married Ann Mulville of Norfolk, Conn., and Trinity College on September 7; they live in Boston. Ted Chadbourne said his vows with Joan Warrington of Lincoln, Del., on June 30; she's a graduate of the University of Delaware and taught school for a year in Amherst, Mass. The Chadbournes live in Bethel, Me., where Ted is with P. H. Chadbourne & Co. Another Delaware ceremony brought together Colin Hunt and Lee Hoiriis of Wilmington, September 7; Web Wilde flew in from his endless Nassau vacation to be best man, and the ushers included DickMount, John Demas, Don Charbonnier, Ace Hall, Ralph Destino '54 and John McCauley '45. Colin is with Laird & Co., stock brokers, in Wilmington.

Tom Waddell took the hand of Barbara Ann Suits in San Diego, August 17; she's from Noblesville, Ind., is a graduate of Ball State Teachers College in Muncie, Ind., and teaches arts and crafts in the San Diego school system. Tom is a lawyer with the San Diego Legal Aid Society, and they live in San Diego. Tedd Hollingworth married Ellen McAllister of Carlisle, Mass., on July 27 m Concord. Ellen attended the Boston Conservatory of Music, and Tedd is on the faculty of Emerson College in Boston, where he previously received a master's degree in speech and education.

Paul Hollenbeck, who's in New York with Lever Brothers, became engaged to Cynthia Powell of Temple, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas and works at the New York Foundling Hospital. Jack Doyle made plans with Marilyn Perrotti of Woodbridge, Conn., an alumna of Quinnipiac College.

Buck Kuttner was appointed by the town council of Irvington, N. J., to a one-year term as corporation counsel, a new post created to accomplish revision and codification of existing ordinances and to develop new legislation concerning industrial redevelopment and other matters. Buck has a law office in nearby Newark, is secretary-treasurer of the Irvington Bar Association, was co-chairman of the 1963 Irvington United Jewish Appeal campaign, and is counsel for the Irvington Little League. Dick Ames, ex-Navy flight surgeon, has entered private practice with another physician at the Medical Center in Sandwich, N. H. Bill Kehoe graduated from Harvard Law School in June.

Skip Hurlbut was promoted to assistant actuary by John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Boston. Bob Rinehart began service as an Army doctor with an orientation course at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, in military procedures, field medical service and general military medical activities. Al Van Huyck leaves this month for two years on a Ford Foundation assignment as a technical advisor to the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Calcutta, India. Ray Durkee moved up to personnel manager of Kimberly-Clark Corp.'s research and development center at Neenah, Wise.; he also bought a new house in nearby Appleton.

Dick Batchelder resigned as basketball coach and athletic director of Rockport (Mass.) High School to become baseball coach and assistant basketball coach in Beverly, his home town. The Gloucester Times reported: "News of Batchelder's leaving staggered the sporting community of Rockport yesterday." Dick's Rockport basketball team won its league championship last winter. The Times' story was lengthy and probed deeply into Dick's decision to switch jobs. He was quoted as saying: "Believe me, I had many regrets about leaving Rockport. I spent eight of the happiest years of my life in Rockport and the Cape Ann League. But I figured there just was a lot more opportunity for me in a bigger school system."

Bob Gregg is in Frankfurt, Germany, with Paradiso International Trade Consultants. He makes market surveys and arranges for licensing agreements between U.S. and European companies. He writes: "My wife and I spend all our spare time traveling around Europe." Hank Maretz was named assistant trust officer of Tradesmens National Bank of New Haven; he's a New Haven native and was formerly with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City, where he was an administrator in the personal trust and estate division. Pete Sarty took over the management of The Alibi, a night club in Middlebury, Vt., when the owner was drafted. Pete owns Basin Lodge and a ski shop in Killington, Vt.

Moonlighting: Phil Camp was one of seven co-chairmen for this year's United Fund drive in Norwich, Conn. Phil is with Walter T. Camp & Son Insurance Agency, also finds time to be vice president of the Norwich Board of Underwriters, secretary of the Norwich Rotary, corporator of the W. W. Backus Hospital and the Chelsea Savings Bank, and a member of the executive committee of the Eastern Connecticut Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Charlie Williams led a drive by the New Britain (Conn.) Junior Chamber of Commerce to obtain 4,100 signatures on a petition to establish a commission for revision of the city charter. Charlie is associated with his father in the law firm of Camp, Williams & Richardson. John LeFever played the role of a corrupt official in a Woodstock, N. Y., summer theatre production of "Afternoon of the Spawn." A freelance writer, John authored an article on natural childbirth in the June issue of American Journal of Nursing.

A smashing success was a '55 Boston area golf outing organized by Dana Hennigar and held at the Bellevue Golf Club, Melrose, Mass., on September 13. Dana, with the home course advantage, had the day's low gross, but Skip Hurlbut won first low net and Randy Hayes was second low net. The distinguished cast of also-rans comprised Otis Carney, Al Graham, Gordie Russell, Dave Conlan, Pete Thompson, Jere Daniell, Bruce Alexander, Sonny Peters, Hank Stephenson, Jon Kropper, Phil Reilly, Chet Gale and Ace Hall. Joining the athletes and their wives and dates for dinner after the match were Larry Veator and George McGregor and their wives.
