The class party at the Continental Hotel after the Harvard game had its usual fine turnout. Many too many attending to list here. Looking through the bottom of my glass I counted over 75 couples plus GusAllen. Most of the married men were gathered around Gus questioning him on how to take a weekend and leave your wife at home. (I'm just kidding in case Mabel reads this.) After promising myself to collect lots of news for this article, I became so engrossed in Gus's answers that I forgot to do any reporting at the party.
The only item I did pick up was from Pete Hutchins and even this item was fourteen months old. To be completely accurate I should say "they" were fourteen months old since Pete, with some help from his lovely wife, had twin girls in September 1962. They claim the honor of being the first class twins and unless we hear to the contrary the honor is theirs and appropriate ceremonies will be held during our fifteenth reunion. Pete and the family are living in York, Me., where he practices law.
Brock Brower is teaching the nine-week course "Writing Workshop" at the Adult School of Montclair, N. J. After Dartmouth, Brock went to England and received a Master's degree from Oxford. Since then he has written many articles and fiction which has appeared in such publications as Vogue, Esquire, Show, and The New York Times Magazine. Brock is assistant editor of Esquire Magazine and associate editor of The Transatlantic Review. I spoke to Brock last summer and he advised me that a new ad- dition to his family made him miss reunion.

I read a fascinating article from the Denver Post on Rog and Donna Ewy. They have become a well known team in the field of photojournalism and have traveled through many parts of the world. They collect "picture stories," primarily for industrial firms for use in their advertising and public relations programs. In 1959 they left for a two-year 55,000-mile trip through Europe. They started the trip by obtaining free passage in exchange for a photography job. While in Europe they had assignments from blue chip companies including General Motors, Caltex, Gulf Oil and others. Rog and Donna work as a team with one person interviewing while the other took pictures. After their return they set up shop near Denver and now do work for several advertising agencies and industrial clients. Last summer they spent six weeks in Mexico gathering picture stories on construction equipment, power stations, and steel plants. The Ewy team recently showed more growth with the birth of their second daughter, Suzanne.
Slightly closer to home is Don Bremner who has just been appointed Planning Director for Westport, Conn. Don did graduate work at Cornell in City Planning and is currently completing his thesis for a master's degree. Also nearby is Wayne Han-sen who has been named area chairman for Fanwood, N. J., United Community Fund. Wayne is an assistant vice president of Chase Manhattan Bank in New York.
Al Brewster was awarded the Chartered Life Underwriter designation at National Conference Exercises of the American College of Life Underwriters. Al has been a special agent with the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company for the past five years. Pete Wagner reversed the trend of going west and left the coast to move to Roanoke, Va. Pete is selling for Jantzen Sportswear and he and his wife Sally have three children. They also have a swimming pool and welcome any 53's to stop in and cool off on their way to Miami.
We like the sound of Dick Dunham's job. He's working for the Olympic Games as Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director. Dick will be at the winter games in Europe this February and is expecting to see some Dartmouth classmates while he's there. In the meantime he is living at the New York Athletic Club. Howie Clery has been doing a great deal of traveling for Royal McBee Corporation. Howie is Product Manager for Keydex, an information retrieval system, and has been introducing it to branch offices and prospects around the country.
You'll be pleased to know that your Class believes in sound fiscal policies. The statement of expenditures for our tenth reunion shows a surplus of $54.88. Other statistics on the statement show a total attendance of 244 men and 195 women. Rumors of a scandal and possible grand jury investigation involving the class hats are completely without foundation and a certain prominent Wall Streeter will be returning from Brazil in the very near future.
Merry Christmas, see you next year.
