Nice to know we've got a friend in court - this time the Mercer County Court wheie Judge George Barlow now presides, thanks to an appointment by New Jersey's Governor Hughes. Post had been vacant two years awaiting a suitable candidate with political and bar approval. George had previously been considered for the post, passed it up to stay in private practice. George had been assistant U. S. Attorney three years and U. S. Commissioner since 1956. I recently called to offer our congratulations, found him still hearing cases late in the afternoon, was informed by his secretary that the Mercer County Court doesn't close until court business is finished. Quite a fine honor for George (his predecessor made the Federal bench), and I believe he is our first '43 judge. As you speed through the Trenton Freeway, keep in mind you may end up before our jurist, who lives with wife Jane and their three children at 10 Woodhampton Drive, Trenton.

Bill Seidman is reputedly one of Gov. George Romney's key men in the new Michigan administration. Bill, who lost as Republican candidate for auditor general on the Romney ticket, will blueprint plans of state spending, writing a modern tax system, and recruiting new industry and jobs for the state. Romney says Bill will be his key man in the economic area. In private life, Bill is an accountant-lawyer with the national firm of Seidman and Seidman. Both George Romney and Bill Seidman are known as doers, and considerable national attention will be given to their performance in Lansing in the next two years.

Like old friends passing in a foggy night, Sraed Ward and I drifted past each other in the fog-bound Atlanta airport one recent Friday night when neither of us got home. He quickly lost me in the crowd, later wrote me from his new home in Downingtown—about twenty miles from here. Smed is with Pennsalt in Philadelphia.

Talked to Stan Calder, who thought it was pretty clever of Frank Hartmann to slip in the picture between President Dickey and me several months back. Stan is treasurer of Union Bag-Camp Paper, whose products are probably in your house right now.

Fred Richardson and wife Freda recently logged over 20,000 miles in a 31-days around-the-world trip that touched nine foreign countries - Japan, Formosa, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Italy. The Richardsons are always on the move - last time I saw them was at Chicago when they were headed for Honolulu. After" all, Fred is in the travel business in Dover, practices what he preaches... . One picture of Fred in the Dover paper shows him perched on a camel in a scene worthy of the Arabian Nights.

Pottstown, considerably inland, will welcome that intrepid sailor, Bus Mosbacher, when he lectures at The Hill School on February 24. Lecturing to schoolboys is something new for our Chairman, and we hope the experience won't be so wearying that he can't stop by to say hello. Perhaps we'll form a welcoming committee!

Secretary, 414 Rosedale Dr. Pottstown, Pa.
