This Association's Annual Dinner meeting was held this year at the University Club on March 28. A star-studded program attracted 245 alumni and wives, the largest gathering ever for this affair and a tribute to the ingenuity and organizational abilities of Bud Barker '52 and Fred Harrell '53. Bud, as president of the Association, arranged for an outstanding program, and Fred, as chairman of the evening, organized the various elements into a pleasurepacked AVz hours that left everyone present looking forward to next year's meeting.
Held in conjunction with the dinner was an alumni fund agents' clinic. Following this, other alumni arrived for cocktails and dinner. The after-dinner program was in the hands of President Barker who conducted the election of Association officers for 1963-64, and then introduced Charles Moore'25, head of the Alumni Fund, and President Dickey, guest speaker for the evening. President Dickey's address, as always, was most enlightening and entertaining as he brought us up-to-date on Dartmouth. His visits to Cleveland are appreciated greatly by the local alumni. Immediately upon completion of the President's talk, the doors of the dining room swung open and the Glee Club marched in singing a medley of Dartmouth songs. This was a surprise visit by the Club .... a surprise, that is, to Mr. Dickey, and a secret well kept by 245 alumni. Needless to say, this entertainment was a most fitting climax to a highly successful evening.
Elected Association officers for the coming year were: Waldemar Meckes Jr. '42, President; Andrew Carstensen '45, Ist Vice President; Robert Fairbank '33, 2nd Vice President; Robert Wottrich '45, Treasurer; John Klein '52, Secretary; Fred Harrell '53, Assistant Secretary. Good luck to these new men and our thanks to those who held the organizational reins this past year.
At 8:45 A.M. following their evening's entertaining at the Annual Dinner, the Glee Club sang for the students at Shaker Heights High School. Warren Crumbine '37 arranged for this program and although this is a very difficult hour for anyone to have to sing, the boys were a big hit!
