Your editor took a trip to New Jersey in September and visited a few classmates. He called on the Flanders family in Swanzey on the way down only to learn sadly that Phil had passed on the day before.
At Union, N. J., he called on Alanson"John" Alden who lives alone since the death of his wife in their ancestral home, but at the time was enjoying a visit from his older brother Bill from Texas who was sporting a bright tan sombrero.
On the return he called at Scarsdale, N. Y., where Larry and Dorothy Symmes hosted Esther Blanchard, Jane Schilling, and him at Patricia Murphy's beautiful candlelight restaurant.
At Belchertown, Mass., he spent a night at the hospitable home of Edward andEleanor Bartlett before returning home to resume his task as class news editor.
A new Directory of the class of 1908 was published in September and a few copies are available to interested readers from Secretary Larry Symmes or your editor Syd Ruggles.
However we regret to report since this was published the death of two more classmates, Philip Flanders and George Butterfield, whose obituaries will be found in the In Memoriam section.
